Just read the email, 7 good years, I've endured a few arrogant plan changes, but this one takes the cake, the difference is this time I can clearly get a better deal elsewhere.
Bye bye exetel

Interesting that your higher spending mobile didn't get the heavy email? I feel more pleased about porting away now.

Re: Mobile 1 plan change
I'd perfer not to list low cost mobile providers on an Exetel public forum; that's not my intent. Quite right, I'd rather not either, I was only stirring the pot. I've already applied to port to a plan with another provider that better suits my needs (after maybe five years with exetel!). (I have a...

+1
I got the same email. (Yet another clumsy, bossy insult to my intelligence, like all the ones about ADSL plan changes)

Re: Optus per minute plans question
However, when talking about the data alone then people only measure and quote that in bytes, not bits. So 5 MB, or 5 Mb or 5 mb read the same actually . Thanks bulletmark, I didn't know that  As I quoted above, the Optus charge rate on data for the per min plans is 24c per MB. The Vodafone ch...

Re: Optus per minute plans question
We need to watch our big B and little b People seem to freely interchange MB and Mb (and kB and kb). Mb = Megabit MB= Megabyte 1 MB = 8 Mb. What I want to know is the charge 24 cent per Megabyte or per Megabit? The vodafone plans charge 7 cents for what I think is a Megabit. I'm hoping the Optus cha...

Re: Can't hear ringing on outgoing call
This has been going on for a week. It seemed intermittent at first, but now is constant, and only occurs with VoIP calls to Telstra PSTN numbers in my experience. VoIp to VoIP is normal. The ring tones either don't occur, or consist of a brief bip followed by silence. After the call is answered thi...

Can't hear ringing on outgoing call
Hi, I have had this issue for the last few days. When you make an outgoing call you just hear one brief ringing sound then abrupt silence. Usually I would just hang up and dial again via PSTN, but when someone answered the call I realised it was still ringing on the other end of the line (at least t...

Re: Change from 1500 to 8192 worthwhile?
What's the $5 surcharge and would I still get that with the: Is the plan you are on a really old one? For a while I was on some old plan and got an email saying that there was gonna be a monthly surcharge, for admin or something, added to all plans. I was a bit annoyed at the time because I had not...

Re: Change from 1500 to 8192 worthwhile?
I am in the exact same boat, I even submitted the speed change application on the same day! (20th) Still waiting for mine though (pending) My "Change Service Status" still says pending, I guess it might 'til the end of the month? It also says "Exetel Submit Your Application To Telstra On This...

Re: Change from 1500 to 8192 worthwhile?
Uncapped ADSL1, I'd think you'd likely see a 6X increase to 7Mb/s from Attainable Line Rate 9760 Kbps , plus a slightly bumped up 0.3Mb/s-uplink Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if it was that simple, I saw that Attainable Line Rate 9760Kbps, but thought it might be just some theoretical maximum...

Change from 1500 to 8192 worthwhile?
Hi, I just read the email that says I can now get ADSL2+ from exetel via telstra, I got excited and had a look at the plans. They are more than I want pay but while while I was looking I noticed I should change from the old plan I'm on (TL-C1 $45/month) to something else. The reduced off peak period...
