Can't send emails with dongle
I have a Telstra dongle that I use with an external aerial. This morning I had 1 bar and the Exetel speed test showed 1.2Mb/s. I could download email readily and access the web but could not send a short 4 word email (no attachments). It simply remained in the outbox, no matter how many send/receive...

Re: Windows Live Mail
Dazzled, Thanks for the link.
And thank you Dazzled, Shamin and Anuranga for the time spent and helpful suggestions. It has certainly been a battle.

Re: Windows Live Mail
Looks like the puzzle may have been solved. Exetel took a close look at the problem but couldn't see anything on the server size. But they did notice that a particular remote site was attempting and maybe succeeding to access the address during a 3 hour period that I had agreed not to use WLM or Web...

Re: Windows Live Mail
Whilst I wait for the server engineers to look at this problem, is it possible to check/set the 'retain mail on server' option using telnet?

Re: Windows Live Mail
Hi KavindaS, I tried this yesterday and even pulled the ethernet cable out. Problem still present. I used to have the problem address on WLM in my administrator area but I deleted that last night. So as far as I know only one WLM and that's in my user area. Anyway I have repeated what you asked -clo...

Re: Windows Live Mail
I followed the instructions and sent a message to the faulty email account. Came through into the webmail inbox and also downloaded it with WLM. It stayed up on the server about 20 minutes before "automatically" disappearing. I had WLM turned off during this period, so no instructions from my comput...

Re: Windows Live Mail
Just tried something else:-Sent myself a test email. It appeared in my Sent box on the home computer. And then immediately logged off the internet by pulling the ethernet cable out of the computer. I then waited for more than 2 hours and got my wife to check my webmail Inbox from a remote computer. ...

Re: Windows Live Mail
Yes WLM downloads automatically every 20 to mins. I can't tell whether it is deleting emails at the same time. There is nothing in the Deleted or Junk folders. This was one of the reasons for trying to keep stuff on the server for a while just to see whether something was going missing between serve...

Re: Windows Live Mail
Thanks Dazzled for the link. Got telnet to work OK. At first I got a '0 messages' so checked my Webmail and found the Inbox was empty. So sent myself another test email and confirmed that it had reached the webmail Inbox. Did another list on telnet and '0 messages'. Waited 5 minutes and listed again...

Re: Windows Live Mail
Just did another test. The email stayed on the server approximately 30 minutes after it was downloaded.
