Re: Tethering has been deactivated

Ticket reply:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail.

Please note that we are no longer providing tethering service for Optus CAP plans.

Regards,

Amila F
Support Engineer
Exetel Pty Ltd

Seems exetel are no longer supporting tethering, which is odd because its identical to mobile data usage.

Re: Tethering has been deactivated

Shall do thanks. I tried opening a ticket but none of the options were relevant... It seemed more about HSPA and such.

I dont feel i should contact optus considering im not a customer, so exetel im asking you :)

Thanks.

Re: Tethering has been deactivated

To clarify, my iPhone is being plugged into my laptop via USB and tethered. What i understood from the link provided above was the user was putting the simcard into their laptop and arguing it was a 'mobile' device. Correct me if im wrong, but i dont believe my situation relates. My situation uses t...

Joining exetel with an optus phone line

Re: Alternate payment methods?

Yeah that makes sense :)
I noticed all of the other value for money providers also only do direct debit.
I guess my house will have to work out some payment scheme!

Thanks exetel!

Alternate payment methods?

I'm a big fan of exetel and have an account at home. However i also live in a share house with 8 others and want us to get off this stupid optus rip off and onto exetel! However as its a share house, we dont want to link a credit card or direct debit. Is there any other possible payment method we co...

Re: Practical alternatives for managing off-peak and congestion

I just thought of another alternative way of managing download quotas that actually does away with "peak" and "off-peak", and even "plans" all together. Not sure how easy/hard it would be to implement though and what customers would think of the complexity but... Instead of plans like "6GB peak + 6...

Re: Practical alternatives for managing off-peak and congestion

Sorry i have not the time to read all the previous posts, so i will merely suggest my concept in hope its original :) How about leave it how it is... 1. email all members a notice to the effect of: 'dear members, we are currently suffering from congestion at 2am every night due to scheduled and manu...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

Strongly against such a change. I'm always up after midnight and like that i'm using up my off-peak download limit.

EDIT: Changed my mind, i'm now for it as this midnight slow down really annoys me. If it changed the slowdown to 2am, it'll make me happier.
