Re: New NBN FTTC connection - Question re BYO Router

I too want to use my router for FTTC? NBN Co sent my a connection device and Exetel sent me a modem. What settings to I have to enter in my modem and can I connect it directly to the wall socket or do I need to use the connection device and plug the modem into that? Sent Exetel a support question bu...

Re: Problem with ADSL2+ NSW Telstra

False alarm. I discovered what the problem is/was. One of our credit cards was compromised on Friday and had to be cancelled and reissued. Of course it had to be the one that pays for our Exetel account which I didn't even think of at the time. Account now paid and problem has gone away (just have t...

Problem with ADSL2+ NSW Telstra

ADSL2+ TCV20 200 regional here.
Since last night we have been having problems with connection.
We seem to be unable to access any dot.com sites - dot.com.au sites load ok but nothing that is dot.com. ie eBay, Facebook etc?
No mention of any problems on the outages page?

Thanks.
That did it.
So start of month is 1, quota 200,000 and off peak 0?

Re: 8192/384 or ADSL2+?

So although it will support ADSL1 you're saying it might not necessarily support ADSL2? I'm only a kilometre from the exchange?

Re: 8192/384 or ADSL2+?

Just got this in my Inbox this morning . . .

I'm on a Telstra exchange and I have a Telstra phone line, what the hell does that mean?

Dear: MR XXXX

Your ADSL speed upgrade request has been failed due to technical reasons and the current speed will remain unchanged.

Re: 8192/384 or ADSL2+?

Here we go again. I had placed an application a couple of weeks ago to change from my current plan which was due to kick in from March 1. The application was to change from TL-BA 12Gb/Unlimited to T1.5-30 30Gb/180GB. A good thing too because for the first time I have exceeded my monthly spend. Now, ...

Re: Billion 7404VGP Settings For VoIP

Had another round of fun and games settng this up again after a hard reset. The trick I learned thanks to an ealier post is not to enter the IP in the registration address but put the name instead ie. sip1.exetel.com.au Enter all the other setup information as requested, but put the name in instead....

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

Just wanted to clarify that the only plans available to me are those that appear when I access the members area and go to manage ADSL and change service? Because, being on the Springwood 2777 exchange my choices appear to be very limited. From this it appears I could not bundle a wired plan even if ...

Re: 8192/384 or ADSL2+?

So, Exetel's now going to hit me up for another 10 bucks for the service I already have? And, it has put up the price of the other services I was looking at recently just in case I might want to change to them? Nice one Exetel. So, instead of paying $50 for my current 1500/256 service it's now going...

Re: Unable to change plan

I'm getting so sick of the rapid changes.
Everytime I look the deals are different and in the end as I have done before I just walk away.
The plans that were on offer recently now appear to be more expensive and this means I'll probably be staying where I am on ADSL1 1500/256 until I bloody well die.

Re: 8192/384 or ADSL2+?

That really sucks. So my options are: A. Stay where I am: TL-BA 1500/256 12G/Unlimited $50 a month B. Change to: T1500-A 1500/256 50G/120G $38 a month ($20 activation) C. Move to: T8192-A 8192/384 30GB 30G $1 /GB Free VoIP Static $48 a month ($20 activation) D. Move to: TE-2D ADSL2+ 100G 120G $1 /GB...

Re: 8192/384 or ADSL2+?

Short answer no.
Instead of this extremely attractive price I would have to pay $68 a month plus $20 line rental = $88 for ADSL2 (via Telstra) = twice as much!
Gotta love it . . .
