Re: Speed reduction

I am on the AAC plan, don't know which carrier that is with. Up to yesteday I was getting speeds of 3.6mb/s with jdownloader and doing speed test. After changing ip adress and having dns problems, I am now only getting 2mb/s. The support person told me he had to delete my connection and reactivate i...

Speed reduction

Early saturday afternoon, I decided to peform an IP adress change through the Exetel website. Evidently this has caused some problems with my service, after calling the support line three times, a gentleman was able to repair the connection ( I was getting a dns error on modem diagnostics, all the r...

Re: Clarification of plan needed please...

Probably not missing anything, having been with Exetel for some years, you will find they will offer better deals if their circumstances change. ie. costs reduce. My initial plan was around 30/40GB peak /off peak for i think was $55.00 (pretty good deal at the time), now it 90GB / Unlimited @ the sa...

Re: Off-Peak time reduction-This is a joke

I am with the mob here I'm afraid, not at all happy with this desicion, but having said that i beleive this is a move out of circumstance not one out of company greed. Going from Exetel's past performance (in my case anyway), the plan i originally signed up to back in 2008 has been getting better an...

Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes

I cant really see this being too much of an issue, I just changed over to z/23byoline a few days back (not effective till end of the month). But If I understand this correctly, off peak times will never be shaped (becuase they are unlimited) only peak times, so I want to download at full speed I nee...

Re: How much currently for excess usage?

Yes i think option 2 is the go.
apparently billing will refund the disputed amount, but results in not being able to renew your contract upon its end, so basically they will ask you to find another provider.

Re: How much currently for excess usage?

I got stunk badly too. A day or two before end of month, the charges on the account details on my members page changed to $0.50 (as did my download limit), so i hit the start button on my download manager only to find I was charged $1.50/g and for the extra 10G as well. Not happy either, currently t...

Re: How to change from Added Value plan to No Frills plan?

I too have been interested in doing this, as the excess gb charges are ony 50c/GB and I wil be getting extra peak downloads from my current plan for $5 cheaper. It seems the only loss in 'frills' is the free monthly SMS and Emailtofax quota. Doesnt really concern me. After emailing Excetel on this i...

Re: Frequent Sync Loss

severe sync problems have returned over the last few days. Isolation tests done, multiple modems tried, though this morning normal service returned. If I had any hair, I'd rip it out. Once again problem seems more severe at night. constant loss of sync if sync'ed then only for a few seconds and drop...

Re: Frequent Sync Loss

Still problems with sync, today sync was off doe most of the day, dropping out regularly. This aftenoon was out for a number of hours well into the evening. Logged a fault around 9.45 and a little after sync returned. was anything done in response to the fault log? if so, it seemed to have restored ...

Re: Frequent Sync Loss

This afternoon sync has dropped out a few times, though, now returns withing a few seconds. maybe out for 20 seconds or so each time. Also noticed a great gain in bandwidth speed of almost 60%, maybe my exchange has been doing some repairs or upgrades? will keep you posted.
