Got it!

The answer was staring me in the face all the time. The error message was saying it was not a .pdf file, so I deleted it and uploaded it again, changed the permissions to 705, and it opens nicely.

No, I cannot see the Apache file tree layout of the files, like I can for my other files on this web site. Cannot download .pdf files

I have uploaded a my_file_name.pdf file, installed htaccess script, and set the permissions on the file to 705. There are no blanks in the file name. When I open the file from IE Explorer, I get the error message : File does not begin with '%PDF-' can anyone please advise how I can enable others to ...

Cannot download folder

I have put 4 folders on my Exetel web site, each with files including an index.html file.

When I try to download a folder using Save Target As...., it opens the index.html file.

How do I download each of my folders please?

Many thanks Dazzled, for persisting with this.

I went in and deleted the .txt file association, and all is working perfectly with the directory file tree being displayed .

Next step is to do some html study and create thumbnails that can be clicked on to view the images

I have changed the line of code to: Options +Indexes

I then get the error message " List Index out of Bounds"

I am using CoffeeCup DirectFTP 6.2

Am open to any suggestions on this problem

Thanks Dazzled. I have set the permissions for each file and the folder to 705, and added a new file: .htaccess.txt with one line of text : SELECT ALL

I still cannot get access to the directory.

Is there somethjing silly I am doing?
