Connectionfee: Exetel/Optus service on inactive Telstra line

For a new service Exetel/Optus AZ-A plan ($60 unlimited) there is a $100 ADSL activation fee shown on the website - but what if any is the additional charge to connect this service if the existing phone line is an inactive Telstra line (the line is inactive but still connected to the exchange - call...

Re: Tethering rates on WBP plan

Thank you, Are you sure? The Exewiki section you refer to only mentions rates for the Mobile cap plan (27.5c per mb) and for the Mobile per minute plan (24c per mb). There is no mention of rates for the Mobile Broadband plans whose names start with W. http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.php?title=Mob...

Re: Tethering rates on WBP plan

1. Is it considered "tethering" to use an Exetel wirless broadband sim (plan WI A) in a portable wifi modem such as Pocket WIFI (Huawei E585)? Effectively this device catches the 3g signal and passes data back and forth to other devices by wifi. 2. Is it also 'tethering" to use the Exetel sim in an ...

Re: Porting PSTN to VOIP

I am trying to find out (ticket #4897858) if I can port my Optus/Exetel number to VOIP. The online response seems to be 'not eligible' which is surprising given that the number is in teh range for my local exchange and the copper line with this same number has been connected to the local exchange co...

Re: Getting Unshaped on Optus plan?

Thanks; so (just to be clear) when a customer's existing in-contract plan with an unshaping option finishes or rolls over, they will not have the chance of continuing unshaped as at present?

Getting Unshaped on Optus plan?

Do old or new customers going onto a new Optus plan still have the option to go unshaped and pay $x per Gb for excess usage? (can't see it in member facilities) Previously you could email Exetel to change over from shaped to unshaped.

Re: $20.00 A Month For Full Service (Real) Telephone Line Re

My own experience when I switched earlier this year: changeover from Exetel/AAPT to Exetel/Optus took about 4 weeks, no ADSL2 in this time although the Telstra line still worked in most of this waiting period; then had about half a week with no phone because in the changeover from Telstra to Optus m...

Re: Speed reduction

Are you on Exetel's AAPT, Optus or Telstra service? We also had a major speed reduction (a little more than yours) on switching from AAPT to Optus.

In my case, the download speed halved after changing from Exetel/AAPT to Exetel/Optus OCV200 ........<..>(This may be sorted out in time with further assistance from Support, but if speed is the most important factor, people need to be aware of the risks of changing between Exetel's suppliers. In my case, the download speed halved after changing from Exetel/AAPT to Exetel/Optus OCV200 (this followed 4 weeks without ADSL during the changeover (but still with Telstra phone service) and then 4 days when the phone line was accidentally disconnected at the exchange and connected to a neighbou...

New OCV plan: phone calls being charged...a temporary issue?

This may be a temporary (transitional) issue with accounts that will be fixed up shortly : my relative on her new OCV inclusive plan since it started on 1 February seems to be accruing wireline phone call charges for local calls at 15 cents each. (The OCV plan is meant to include these calls, nation...
