Re: HSPA Connection Issues and Questions

I've had the E169 for a day now and it seems to be working well. Certainly seems to have solved my disconnection problems! (It still occasionally disconnects, twice in 24 hours. It wont reconnect until I unplug it, remove the sim card and replug it, but it then reconnects straight away; no waiting. ...

Re: HSPA Connection Issues and Questions

I have tried the 'ping' thing after reading your suggestions in a couple of other posts. It didn't work for me. However, after reading your reply I have a very different understanding of how this all works. One thing I shall try is setting my modem to GPRS preferred and see if that makes a differenc...

HSPA Connection Issues and Questions

Since joining Exetel a few weeks ago I have been having a lot of trouble with disconnections. I live near Perth in an area that is supposed to be 2100MHz but seems to be in a dead spot. I thought they were separate systems for different areas eg 900Mhz was for the hilly areas and 2100MHz was for urban and flatter...

Re: HSDPA Broadand Drop outs - Extremely Frustrating

According to the map coverage site I am in a 3G (2100Mhz) area although I take this with a grain of salt. I shall probably have to use an antenna to get this modem working properly in my area. After looking at the specs on Huawei modems I have just returned from giving myself a good kicking. When I ...

Re: HSDPA Broadand Drop outs - Extremely Frustrating

I have also been having problems with continuous disconnects since joining Exetel a few weeks ago. At first I was pleased to have found an isp that would sell me broadband in my area. I knew that it would be slow under GPRS but anything is better than dialup at 400b/s and continuous dropouts. I boug...
