Re: ADSL2 Unlimited Plans (For Exetel Users Only)

Having about $70 of excess download charges over the summer holidays due to the kids, I would pay the extra $10 per month, because over the year it would save me money even though most months I don't use my limit. My contract finishes on 7/4, so 8/4 seems like a good time to launch this :)

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

I don't mind the shift of time, if you need to manage the network load, then do so, I understand.

But reducing the off peak hours, I signed up for 12, wouldn't that be a breach of contract?

Re: How do I know if my speed is right

I got some interesting results last night. The PC (1) was still reporting 1.2Mb bandwidth when I performed the isolation test (no devices, not filter), LAN connected instead of wireless, so I started trying other devices. PC 1 - XP, older build, 1.2Mb bandwidth Laptop 1 - XP 2.5Mb "" Laptop 2 - Unbu...

Re: How do I know if my speed is right

I also tried unplugging the phone last night, so the (modem) router was the only device. I reset the router and tried the speed tests, same results. In fact later in the evening (after 7pm) it dropped to 895k - 1M bandwidth on the speed test. Tonight, I am going to try a different computer, wired to...

Re: How do I know if my speed is right

I've done the test and it is reporting 1.2Mbps bandwidth and a 155.89KB/sec download. I've replaced the filter and got the same result.

Re: How do I know if my speed is right

Will do, but will have to wait until I get home tonight.

I don't expect any, I'm running a 5Ghz phone to avoid interference with the wireless.

Cheers

How do I know if my speed is right

Hi, I'm new to Exetel, ADSL2+ and DIY support, so please bear with me. How do I determine if I am getting the most out of my ADSL@ service? It's only been on for a couple of days now, and when it first fired up, my speed test (exetel) was reporting 500kbps which I was happy with as it was 4x faster ...
