Current Mobile Broadband Plans (Feb2017)

Hi there, I wasn't able to find this anywhere in the forum (aside from a reference in a 2010 post), and wanted to confirm, if the Mobile Broadband plans come with (or are able to come with) a static IP address. The Product information page is silent on the matter. Thanks in advance for any informati...

Re: Has your Asterix been Hacked?

Hi pasanm, Thanks for the advice. I'll definately keep these in mind when I turn the server back on. I especially like the idea of logging dropped packets. I just need to figure out how to use iptables (should be fairly easy right?). I wonder if there are any authorities to which we can report hacki...

Re: Has your Asterix been Hacked?

haven't had a chance to setup the isolated network yet (will soon), so haven't booted up the trixbox to check the logs, but will definately go through the CDR and check the context details. if it's of any interest, the bulk of the numbers called, were to 00112522168097 (apparently this is in Somalia...

Has your Asterix been Hacked?

Mine apparently got SIP hacked tonight, and the buggers made over $200 in calls to Somalia in the course of less than an hour. Thankfully Exetel support noticed the suspicious activity and blocked the accounts. :D I have since taken the Asterix server offline. If anyone else is operating an A...

Re: Trixbox Exetel Voip Sip Trunk Incoming calls issue

Hi All, I'll start with a Big thanks to Jessexoc for all the help. I currently have the line context=from-trunk in my config, and calls are able to come through. Strange thing is though last night, when I left the config was still the same (and didn't work). When I came in this morning (before testi...

Re: Trixbox Exetel Voip Sip Trunk Incoming calls issue

Hi jessexoc, thanks for answering :) Tried that, does it matter what my trunk name is? or does context=from-trunk not care about trunk names? (similar to how insecure=very doesn't care about my personal setting, but host=58.96.1.2 is specific to Exetel, and fromuser=0212345678 is specific to my acco...

Re: Trixbox Exetel Voip Sip Trunk Incoming calls issue

Hi all, I'm also trying to setup Trixbox to work with an Exetel VOIP SIP Trunks. Running into similar problem. (a warning for all, I'm a total n00b with Linux, VOIP and Asterix / trixbox). I've setup my trunks as detailed in jessexoc's post, as well as the way described in: http://forum.exetel.com.a...

Re: Content Filtering Trial

4. Exetel is satisfying "Technical curiosity" at the expense of degraded service and invasion of privacy; as a customer it seems like a high price to pay for curiosity. As a systems administrator myself, there are times when things have to be tested, before major decisions can be made. I would expe...

Re: Content Filtering Trial

Hi there, I'm not sure if this is helpful to anyone, I host a mail server, and my Exetel link is my "redundant" link. Access to the webmail facilities on my server this morning had 1 noticable glitch. The "login page" loaded fine, as did the "email list" page. The first time I tried to open an email...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

While I currently enjoy the current "midnight to midday" off peak, as what I consider to be a "normal user", when I want to download something large (P2P, FTP, HTTP), I will typically stay up 'till midnight to start my download. having been an exetel customer on ADSL1 during the 2am-10am offpeak sta...
