Re: New memebers login page shows uncharged max again?

I posted about this in another thread, which was subsequently locked and archived without any answer being given to my query. While it seems likely that this is just a glitch caused by the updating of the Members' Facilities page and therefore nothing to worry about (if you click the link to the old...

Re: Unlimited ADSL2 Plans - Update

That message at the top of the new MF screen only appeared after I made this post. So yes, now I can see that it's likely a glitch that needs to be corrected. I hope so, anyhow.

I guess recent developments have made me more wary than ever of Exetel's propensity for unannounced changes.

Carry on.

Re: Unlimited ADSL2 Plans - Update

I just logged in to check my monthly usage and noticed this beneath the meters: Uncharged Plan Maximum Off Peak Download 86 gbytes Also, where it once said "Unlimited" it now says "No charge." When did this change occur? It was my understanding that no current user was going to have their plans chan...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

There will be no change to any current customer's plans off peak period in the foreseeable future. Are you going to send out an email explaining this situation? The past few days have caused enormous amounts of confusion; a clearly-worded email to set the record straight would be appreciated by eve...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

I'm very disappointed in this change. As has been mentioned, not only does this limit the amount that can be downloaded during off-peak times, it puts extra strain on our peak quotas. Adding an extra 180 hours onto the monthly peak period will significantly affect my ability to use the internet as I...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

Now that this whole debacle has settled down, and appears to be running smoothly, I'd like to thank Exetel for the extra 20gb per month.

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

It is not mine to correct poor assumptions but Exetel "gives you no 90 gb plan". (See What is an Off peak exactly worth......... for some background) The residential ADSL marketed by Exetel are all subject to a split (24hr) system with plans sold in sizes up to 50 gig Prepaid-creating the (uncharge...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

The important issue here, I would have thought, isn't whether somebody chooses to download games from Steam or a massive pile of porn or lossless Grateful Dead live recordings, but the execution of Exetel's "uncharged" plans. What people download is their business, assuming it's legal (and, though I...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

The distinction is a little bit too subtle, if you ask me. Uncharged, unmetered, unlimited: it's all a delicate game of semantics. Essentially, though, they made the announcement that the previously-aplied hard limit of 60gb was being removed, before turning around three weeks later and imposing ano...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

I'm still mystified as to the negative attitudes many people seem to harbour towards those who want to get as much bang for their buck as possible. Exetel offer a plan that gives you 90gb/month - by what logic shouldn't we be entitled to utilise 100% of that? Then they say "actually, for 12 hours a ...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

I'm on the 30gb peak / 1.5mb plan, which previously gave me a total monthly download quota of 90gb. Not only did I routinely bump the upper limits of this, but I did so without breaking any laws. (It might surprise people to know that there is a wealth of free and legal resources on the internet, an...
