Re: Changing Wholesaler

Hi Lavec. I was told that there was an issue with the Optus DSLAM and Optus don't have any planned resolution for it. That might be different for you at your location. However, to switch to Telstra I was told I had to cancel my contract and then reapply and ask for the Telstra DSLAM but that they co...

Changing Wholesaler

So For a ridiculously long time I've been getting excellent speed most through the day (12-18 Mbps) and then as the day goes on drops to between 1-3 Mbps. I've been speaking to some parents at the school my kids attend and have worked out that those on the Optus DSLAM have generally similar experien...

No connection Ashfield NSW

Have had no connection in Ashfield NSW since around 10pm. Rebooted router/modem. Multiple laptops and Android phones can no longer connect.

Windows diagnostics states DNS server might be unavailable.

Anyone else? ETA for fix?

Re: Service number incorrect for address.

So if I am to change ISP's which is the number that I provide? The service number or the actual phone number? That is also part of the confusion for me.

Re: Service number incorrect for address.

I also have the same issue. I live in Ashfield NSW and the phone number is connected to Rockdale exchange.

Can this also be looked at.

Re: Poor Speeds during wet weather

I would like this investigated as the speed drops significantly during periods of wet weather. Something i have also become aware of is that while my service number is attached to my local exchange (Ashfield) my actual home number is attached to the Rockdale exchange. Could this be an additional fac...

Re: Poor Speeds during wet weather

So not a real technical knowledge. Went to cmd.exe and typed in telnet and get "is not recognized as an internal or external command ...." same if I add telnet adsl

I'm using Windows 8 (unfortunately) if that makes a difference. Do I need to install a program?

Poor Speeds during wet weather

I've previously reported over the years very poor speeds which the often come good again without anything actually changing. During this wet period in Sydney it has become more apparent to me that these slow internet periods relate to whether it is raining or not (or if we've recently had a large do...

Re: Seriously slow speeds in the evening

No it was never resolved. I was sent an email to say that it had been resolved and I then had a series of emails with udara which clearly pointed out that nothing had been resolved and that the statement that it was resolved was an error on Exetels behalf.

Re: Seriously slow speeds in the evening

Your speed issue is currently being worked on. There is no immediate solution as our supplier has confirmed that they have some network related issues. We have escalted this case the the supplier and their management is aware of the situation. Steps are being taken to remedy the issue. At the momen...

Re: Seriously slow speeds in the evening

I've done all those tests with support previously. The problem only really occurs of an evening, so the interference stuff is probably not likely as the phone doesn't move, nor do cable lengths change. The problem exists wired or wireless, for 2 laptops and 3 different branded smartphones.

Re: Seriously slow speeds in the evening

Nothing exciting

No packet loss
min 17ms
max 20 ms
av 18 ms

Speed check just then (from exetel site)
Your current bandwidth reading is:

2.24 Mbps

which means you can download at 286.35 KB/sec. from our servers.
