Re: Usage Meter Counting Downloads plus Uploads

Thanks for the call yesterday to clarify my situation and to take on board my comments. I am pleased to hear you are taking this issue seriously and I look forward seeing the outcomes (next time I use the Member's Portal to change my plan!).

Re: Usage Meter Counting Downloads plus Uploads

I agree dsc68. Nowhere on the "Change Plan" page does it say that the plan being applied for will meter uploads in addition to downloads. Nowhere in the "Acceptable use policy" document, or the "Terms & conditions" document, or the "Customer service guarantee waiver" document does it mention the fac...

Re: Punished for being with Exetel since 2008...

... we need to charge a $59.99 Plan Change Fee to cover the cost of switching your plan ... Really? $60 for changing a download allowance? I remember when plan changes used to be free; then for a small fee (particularly for plan changes which did not required an alteration to line speed, just to th...

Re: New Plans!

Looks like the current "new plans" from the main webpage are finally available to existing customers via "change plan" in member facilities... Yeah! I just noticed that too. I never got around to finishing the broadband-plan-workaround trick... looks like I don't need to go down that route any furt...

Re: New Plans!

Yeah! A small step in the right direction... the Telstra modem is working with an Optus SIM. The connection manager software accepted the unlock code beautifully and is now showing me 2-3 bars of Optus reception as I currently sit at the kitchen table :)

Re: New Plans!

Thanks Dazzled. Thats a great link... one I'll bookmark for future reference. The search by lat/long is particularly useful :) And, yes, both 900 and 2100 is transmitting at the tower I can see :) Lets see if I have time to test over the weekend...

Re: New Plans!

all you need to do is enable a wifi hotspot on your phone and share your phone's 3G data I understand what you're saying, but I have a number of wired LAN clients throughout the house... server, clients, WAP, VOIP basestation, etc and a few wireless clients... laptop, tablet and smartphones. My wif...

Re: New Plans!

Exactly! https://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=303&t=40509&start=30#p308061 states that Exetel gets bonuses/subsidies from Optus for new users. I assume they're passing some of those on to the new users to allow for the discounted plans. I'd be curious to see the agreements with Telstra Whole...

Re: New ADSL plan

This conversation sounds very similar to the start of the one happening on this thread: https://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=303&t=40509 Except, that conversation has progressed from discussing/complaining the (lack of) availability of new plans to discussing ways of potentially getting a new...

Re: New Plans!

6 x 17.50 is $105 extra spent waiting for these plans to come up for existing customers. Ouch... thats a nasty chunk of money spent unnecessarily. I was looking at Exetel's mobile broadband bundles the other day... I'm thinking that if I was to get one of these for a few months, plus a suitable mod...

Re: Messages are being flagged as [...]

I just received an email to one of my Exetel email accounts from a sender's name "Enlarge with Promo" with the subject of "Progress from love guru to sex magnet" entreating me to "Give her the best of you" and containing a very helpful link inside for me to click on. I have received several such em...

I agree, and is why I'm now pretending to ignore the new plans so I stop worrying about the money I'm wasting while stuck on an old plan! ;)

Re: New Plans!

Yes, I also noticed the "New Plans Coming Soon" banner has disappeared. Kinda speaks volumes to me... ie. new plans are not coming soon. Back to a previous comment of mine... churning from Exetel to Exetel. As strange as this sounds, is it a viable option? Yes, I'd have to cancel my service then app...

I had wondered if that was the case. Can I churn from Exetel to Exetel...?
