Cancelling hosting service

At the beginning of the month, I cut my phone and broadband to Telstra. I then cancelled my phone and broadband service (Optus based plan) through the member's facilities. However, there seems to be an issue with cancelling a hosting service - it seems the database is convinced I still have a hostin...

Re: Slow speeds in Bondi

Looks like the joy was short-lived. There definitely seems to be congestion issues down at the beach. As 5 PM passed, the speeds are dropping again albeit better than on PPPoA. For the price of this line I would expect over 1 MB/sec no matter what time I am online. I hit 1.8 MB/s in one test today....

Re: FAQ

When will http://www.exetel.com.au, sip1.exetel.com.au & smtp.nsw.exemail.com.au be IPv6 enabled? Does this mean Exetel are providing IPv6 over PPP or DHCPv6 by default, now? Does Exetel have an IPv6 looking glass? As per the first post in this thread: Here is my 'starter' Q&A [snip] When can I cha...

Re: Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

I thought that the high flow of customers toward NextG' this year (reported 1H'11, and in context with articles I attached) demonstrates support I'm assuming that your "high flow" comment is based on Telstra's trumpeting market speak. In relation to the articles cited: ZDnet article Dated 14th Jan ...

Re: Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

Hmmm suggesting there are users whom would judge such charges "non concerning" seems a quite alien feedback. [snip] I didn't ask about acceptance of extreme excess charges, I was asking why a shaped speed is preferable to full speed for HSPA connections. It seems, in amongst your circumlocutory sty...

Re: Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

OptusW' HSPA could be much better improved if only it could get its charging model to a correct/acceptable 'standard' for consumers; dropping excess and inserting "64Kbps" should be a minimum requirement. I'd like to know what research backs up your statement that consumers would prefer shaping aft...

Re: Porting PSTN number to Voip

So Paul, if you're out there, am I able to port my PSTN number and replace the one that was given to me when I switch to not-naked? I think this will have a lot to do with which carrier supplied the PSTN number you are trying to port. The PSTN number you received as part of the "conversion" to a fu...

Re: Is there a flagfall on National/Mobile calls now?

Hi, I'm on the OCV200/19 plan and when I signed up the terms of the plan indicated FREE local/national/optus mobile calls with NO mention of any flagfall. I haven't received any bills yet however I just noticed that the on some new ADSL/Cap plans it says that there's a 35c flagfall for national/opt...

Is there dial tone on the PSTN line? Can you make outbound calls on the PSTN line?

Re: OCV200 Bundled ADSL with telephone service

The number I now have for my wireline doesn't start with the first 4 digits typical to my suburb I'm in Rdye (029808xxxx) and received a number starting 028084xxxx - using the link Dazzled provided, it's one of 20000 numbers allocated to Optus in the Belrose exchange area :). I'm not fussed about i...

Re: OCV200 Bundled ADSL with telephone service

Now when our PTSN service is reactivated, I'm expecting to be assigned a new telephone number. But what actually happens to our old VoIP number? Does it get switched off when we cut over or does the VoIP service and DID stay in place? Speaking from experience, I can confirm what Dazzled posted - yo...

Re: Mobile Email Access

I find that I am unable to reply to or create new emails using my Exetel account. I have no problem whatsoever receiving emails from each of my accounts. As Ravenous refers to: If you are accessing your Exetel email via a different ISP, you can't use the Exetel outgoing email server. This is an ind...

Re: swapped from naked plan

Same boat. Going to "Manage / Wireline" in the member facilities I get a heading: "Change ADSL2 Telephone Settings for xxxxxxxxxx" where xxxxxxxxxx is the 10 digit service number, not the newly assigned PSTN number received on converting from naked back to fully provisioned. Under that is a statemen...

Re: Email setup info for iphone

so does that mean when using my laptop on a remote internet connection i can longer send emails either? as i used to be able to do this using the bigpond outgoing server. edit: no, its a telstra sim. If you aren't using an Exetel service to connect, ie, your Telstra SIM, you can't use the Exetel SM...
