Can't connect/ping to remote IPs

I'm having problems (sporadic) attempting to connect to one particular website (dreamwidth.org), but that's not my main issue. My main issue is that I hired a VPS recently, and I haven't ever been able to rdp into it from my computer. It also JUST started to resolve from my computer (after 3 DAYS), ...

Packet Loss (severe)

I'm getting sever packet loss (e.g. 8% ). It's started within the last 6 hours or so, and no changes have been made to the modem or the phoneline setup. I've had issues loading pages on the forum here that seem to equate to packet loss. What should I try to fix this? Unfamiliar with packet l...

Re: Connection Times

Ok, thank you. Just seemed slower.
Spose it must be an illusion caused by having much faster DOWNLOAD times :D (just went from 1.5mbps to 13mbps!)

Thanks for that.

Connection Times

Since I upgraded to ADSL2, I seem to be running into delayed connection times to all websites. Below I have a few listed ping times... are these normal values? exetel.com.au - Minimum = 40ms, Maximum = 42ms, Average = 40ms google.com - Minimum = 35ms, Maximum = 38ms, Average = 36ms facebook.com - Mi...

Re: In search of a modem/router

Nope, parents don't think much of voip. Makes the mobile bills cheaper too, we bundle our phones with Telstra. Thinking of grabbing a Asus RT-N10, tbh, provides wireless N, ADSL2+, 4 ethernet ports and detachable antennae, perfect for our purposes. And I've never had any issue with ASUS. Best thing ...

In search of a modem/router

The router in our house here has had better days, and I'm hoping to find a replacement ADSL2+ Modem/Router for a decent price. The new device needs to have a decent range, I have an external antennae if that helps, and it needs 4 ethernet ports. USB is not important, all I need is Ethernet, WLAN and...

Re: NB6+4W random factory resets

Tried firmware, all things considered, sounds like a warranty job. Thanks for trying though guys, it's appreciated. :)

NB6+4W random factory resets

I just got my sister's NB6+4W modem/router off her. It does what I'm after, very well, except... it randomly just does a factory reset. I've read a few topics, and I set my network security accordingly to those topics, but this one just keeps doing it anyway. Any advice??? It's driving me nuts, as i...
