Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Ok, so this is drawing up an old problem. But still have no fix on this. Have tried another new laptop and while it can pick up the connection, it will only connect with limited connectivity. Using an ethernet cable the 2nd laptop accesses internet fine, but not wirelessly. The first/main laptop sti...

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
YEah, just the second one, the first one still works perfectly.
I'm thinking the same. might be easiest to get someone in - just didn't think it would be that hard to get wireless working
sigh... ah well!
Will post up the config stuff tomorrow if I can
Cheers again for all the help!

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Ok, tried those too, and now it connects, and doesn't have the 'limited connectivity' issue, however it still won't give internet connection...
So it 'appears' to be fully connected, but can't access internet....
grrr.... i'm so lost now!

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Ok - all things so far have not worked, including the winsock thing... Only thing I haven't tried is the "Easiest way of sorting this whole thing out (although it is not ideal) it push the start of the DHCP range up to 192.168.1.10 and hardcode the two computers as 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3." Any ...

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Thanks Dazzled. My friend is taking her laptop to work today to see if it also has the same problem on the network there, however I'm unsure whether this will prove anything anyway, because i've had others use my wireless at home as well. Will look into the winsock stuff...if no LSPs should I do the...

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Not sure what NIC is... but i'll try tonight with the wireless.
I also found a setting (somewhere!) on my laptop that said "Share internet connection with other users on the network" - it was unticked... it almost sounded like it should be ticked? Hmmm

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
COol cool - see attachments for the ipconfig...
as for the winsock... i'll run that one you just told me, and if there is anything listed, i'll save it and let you know. May not do it until tomorrow (other laptop user isn't here yet).
Thanks again for keeping the help coming!

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Yep, it has a start and end address, and a lease time (of 1 day...)
But yeah, the 2nd laptop didn't seem to want a piece of anything... lol

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
I assume opening the Dynalink settings on both laptops would be the same, yes?
As you stated, it is ticked on...
Ethernet works on the 2nd laptop, however only if I input the IP as is in the Dynalink settings on my laptop.
(Sorry if this is majorly confusing!)

Re: 2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
Ok, so we tried the above, and it was already set to "automatically find IP...." etc. THen tried plugged in the ethernet to the 2nd laptop (which uses XP) and it still did not work, so I went into the screen above, and put in an IP address... which allowed the internet to work. However once going ba...

2nd laptop "limited connectivity" issues/Dynalink RTA1046VW
My laptop has been set up on this modem for a couple of months working fine. However now that I have a second laptop looking to use it, it will connect, but won't get any internet connection due to "Limited Connectivity" and the little yellow exclamation mark. Is there possibly some settings I need ...

Re: Someone else has 'my' phone number... problem AGAIN
Thanks Cubic
Have opened a ticket for starters, will take a look at changing my password later on.
Just frustrating to see all these calls I haven't made yet they are on my bill
Hopefully it'll be sorted soon! Cheers for the info.

Re: Someone else has 'my' phone number... problem AGAIN
Can anyone else shed some light on who I should contact r.e. this? I'm not willing to spend another 30minutes on the phone only to be hung-up on, so an email would probably be best. I don't understand how the technology works so have no idea how two people can have the same number, but it is clearly...
