It is always worthwhile power-cycling your modem (i.e. turn it off, count to 10, turn it back on) as a first trouble-shooting step, then try another test call.

If you don't use an email account for 6 months it gets deleted - otherwise, Exetel would get clogged up with unused/unwanted email accounts. To avoid your account being deleted, all you need to do is log into it every few months to keep it active.

Strange, I had the same problem. Couldn't access my Exetel email accounts from anywhere. Same as OP, it would say "login fail" on the Exetel webmail facility. It sounds like your computer has been compromised and has been sending spam (unknown by you), which has resulted in Exetel blocking the account. You will need to call Exetel to get your email unblocked, but they will only be able to do so once your computer has been cleared of viruses.

For customer-specific queries such as yours, rather than general questions, contacting Exetel directly by phone/email is the best and fastest thing to do.

I don't know if you tried this before factory resetting, but simply rebooting the modem might have also done the trick.

Definitely a phishing email - lots of clues, most prominent being the URL of the link pretending to be an Exetel link.
