Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

My ping results have improved consistently for the last two days, to only a smidge over what I was seeing before the changeover. All I need now is for an Exetel rep to give some indication here that it is due to overt action, and that we can expect it to remain this way.... Yeah Im hearing ya. Ive ...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

At 2pm today I averaged 1.8MB/s with a peak of 2.1 and at 3.30pm I averaged 800KB/s with a peak of 1.1 all done on Exetels speedtest. This thread has gone quiet again does that mean all of the posters are either happy now or churned away? If they have churned it hasnt helped at my end. Im tryi...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

While it is nice to see some of you getting better results, congestion at peak times is still heavy. Topgun, can you see if iview works around 6pm and speed test around then also? I am watching iView at the moment on my laptop and its perfect so I opened up a second one on a HTPC and it seems to be...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

While I have seen improvement since the increased bandwidth and I can now get iview working 24/7, it still isnt rock solid like Telstra was. I still cant hit 2.0MB/s reliably like I used to but everything seems to be working like it was so Ill just see how things go I guess.

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

Mine is useless again now. Its slow 24/7 and I only have enough bandwidth to browse basic pages. There is no chance of using any type of online video which my family frequently does. My kids are starting to get frustrated at me because they dont understand why it doesnt just work. I have power cycle...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

Seems I am still a part of this mess. As much I was hoping it was back to normal Ive been keeping tabs on it over the past few days and yeah it is better and usable now for the most part but I still have major slow downs and when that happens Ive been trying to run a quick speed test. The last one I...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

I dont know if they did something for me overnight because I had a fault logged or if its right for everyone but after another reboot this morning mine is nearly back to how it used to be. iView is working fine, all browsing is fine, Im getting good low 50-60ms pings to the mainland and I can hit 2....

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

Mine is still not right and im not wasting today trying to work with tech support over something that is still a statewide problem, its too nice outside anyway. There must be something they are doing differently than Telstra. The only thing I can think of was if AAPT used ethernet and not Telstra's ...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

Changed MTU to 1492 and cycled modem and router. No where near fixed for me yet either. While it is heaps better than it was at this MTU setting its still far from consistent and still far from what I used to have. The best speedtest I got was 8mb/s line speed and 1MB/s download speed and a ping tim...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

I might lower my MTU from 1400 to 1392 if thats supposed to be the optimum for the situation. I can browse pages and download files if I persist but things like iView and YouTube are unusable. Its a far cry from the instantaneous internet I had become accustomed to. I get Exetel trying to save a few...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

Seems a bit better today and with the MTU fix I can atleast browse again and use my connection although my sync speed is a bit lower than before. So it wasnt just changing wholesaler the brighton exchange it was all of Tassie. Not a good start for the new supplier... Good to see your doing your best...

Re: Changing DSL supplier in Tasmania...

Im on Brighton exchange and up until a week ago I used to reliably get 2MB/s on a DDL on my adsl2 connection with even the most intensive websites opening instantly and now like everyone else on here i cant even do a dialup speedtest. Every now and then a page may load normally but then the next one...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

Will users that are now out of contract, for a certain period of time be able to go under a new one and keep the current off/on peak times for the term of their contract too? It might keep a few more members happy and keep them signed up for atleast another 12 months.
