Re: Tethering iPhone With Exetel

(it can if jailbroken but not something that's promoted obviously) Tried also with a JB iPhone3 on iOS 3.1.2, tethering would not work . I actually expected it would tether since the phone was previously used w Telstra SIM when telstra would not allow Tethering. But as soon as I Jailbroke it, tethe...

Re: Tethering iPhone With Exetel

Yeah I know. Good thing its a $0/mth service as otherwise we'd need to be asking for a refund.. Checked out the Business pages at exetel... eg. http://www.exetel.com.au/business_hspa.php and http://www.exetel.com.au/business-hspa-terms.php There's no mention of "Tethering" or "Tether" any...

Re: Tethering iPhone With Exetel

Well there is a very good reason why I chose the BUSMA HSPA services over the "Capped" or "Per Minute" plans. These Plans are not competitive and the Excess data fees are no better than Optus' plans. The Data Costs are OUTRAGEOUSLY too high. It appeared to me that the BUSMA plans suited our operatio...

Re: Tethering iPhone With Exetel

Apparently the new Optus based mobile services tether out of the box - see here: https://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=37124#p283474 yeah we know. So what the hell is going on with Exetel !! Data Tethering is a MUST HAVE. Even Telstra allow it now! If I had a Nokia, I could data Tether o...

Re: Best app for recieving calls on iPhone through Exetel VO

Hi Thanks for the attention, info: 1. Yep, using the g729 codec. 2. Yes is set to "push incoming calls". 3. The account's not in use anywhere else, apart from Exetel Moip app which also uses the same account. but Moip does not multitask and problem is the same if Moip is killed or running. Also trie...

Re: Best app for recieving calls on iPhone through Exetel VO

Hi Jokiin, Acrobits helped with a solution - leave the Caller ID box EMPTY - that temporarily fixed it . BUT a new twist.. Now Having other big problems with Acrobits Softphone on iOS4.1 iphone4. Im beginning to think the problems may possibly be related to the Exetel service and/or iPhone iOS4.1 an...

Re: Best app for recieving calls on iPhone through Exetel VO

Hi Jokiin, Acrobits Softphone seems to be a good option, but has stopped working on my iPhone4. I suggest the need for a Dedicated VoIP Sub-Forum Topics to assist users of various SIP apps to get their Voip working and address their App-specific issues. Perhaps (for example) separate Sub-Forum Topic...

Re: Good iphone voip app?

What do you see wrong with the Exetel app? Exetel Moip app seems to still be an infant compared to other SIP apps, and it still has some bugs: 1. Some phone numbers, in contacts, Crash the app. Ive tried ensuring theres no spaces or odd chr's in the number(s) but Moip just crashes out when selectin...

Re: Tethering iPhone With Exetel

We expect to be able to make tethering available 'soon'. Hi, is there an ETA on the Exetel iPhony4 Data Tethering?.. because this is one of two Manditory reasons I purchased an iphone4 for Exetel use. Only to find that in iOS4.1 access to APN and other settings are removed from the "Settings Menu"!...
