Sky Muster Vs ExeGo

Wasnt sure where to put this, so couple of questions. I just checked my mums property for wireless NBN & find we are now able to get the "Sky Muster" satellite service. 1. Does Exetel do any of these satellite services? Checking prices & speeds with nbn maxing out at 25/5Mbs, it seems to me that I w...

Re: A happy customer

Just thought I might throw my 2 cents worth in here. I too have been a long term exetel customer. I now have 2 nbn connections, both of which are 100/40 speeds. My site in Newcastle is FTTP & my site in Tamworth is FTTN which I had connected a couple of weeks ago now that it has finally become avail...

Plan change actual changeover date

I changed my really old mobile plan over to the exesimsaver plan a couple of weeks ago.
When does this new plan actually take effect?
Is it 1st of the month or next billing cycle which I think is around 12th of the month?

Swap sim to new phone problem on 1 tower only

I have an older 3g mobile phone service which is 1 of the rebadged Optus services. My old phone is getting pretty tired so I decided to start using a newish spare phone I have. Swapped the sim card out to the new phone, all connected, all working, all good. Until I headed out to the farm yesterday t...

Re: most basic nbn vdsl modem to use bridged to dd-wrt route

Thanks Dazzled, I am going through the general moves with Netgear tech support at the moment to see if they can fix my issue which I know they can't. (Have now read on the Netgear community forums about exactly the same settings retention problem I am getting & it seems Netgear are in no rush to fix...

most basic nbn vdsl modem to use bridged to dd-wrt router

Hi looking for a simple 1 port vdsl modem I can use to bridge my existing DD-WRT flashed router to the NBN when it happens here next month. Because it will be bridged, I really have no need for extra ports, wifi, etc. Prefer a unit that also runs at 12Vdc as I currently run my equipment from my own ...

About the rebadged Optus WBB plans

I am at the moment looking to set my mum up with some internet access. She lives out of town so ADSL is not an option. Just wondering if there have been any changes in the rebadged Optus WBB functionality since last August when I found things such as Exetel VoIp services will not work due to Optus's...

Re: Eamil being bounced

Fixed finally.
Thanks to all involved in this thread for your efforts. I have now finally convinced the other party to take a look at their servers & they have now fixed at their end.

Re: Eamil being bounced

Have done a little more testing as I get time & have come up with this: It seems the web based squirrel mail service provided by exetel works with mail getting through, so I sent a couple of mails to myself 1 from webmail & the other through my Thunderbird client. Can exetel confirm my theory where ...

Re: Eamil being bounced

I wrote to this other service in order to see if they can shed some light on this issue which it appears they have. Below is a translation of their reply: Hello The problem is that the write-back (PTR) for your IP like writeback for dynamic IP networks on which we do not accept mail in order to comb...

Re: Eamil being bounced

OK, I sent a test mail from my fixed adsl service this morning to this 1 service that has been bouncing me & sure enough it bounced right back to me. I checked the reverse lookup which came up as "~$ host 220.233.0.71 71.0.233.220.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer pecan2-mail.exetel.com.au." My last ...

Re: Eamil being bounced

I am going to do a little more checking, but for now i am suspecting the issue I am having may be coming from 1 single receiving server. Maybe they have tried to screw their servers down just too tightly. It seems these bounces are just coming from this 1 service. ( 2 different email addresses of mi...

Eamil being bounced

Hi, I am having a small problem with the standard exemail service in that while it is working fine from my fixed service to exetel & most servers are accepting mail from me when using my static WBB service, occasionally I am getting an email bounced back at me when using WBB due to a reverse DNS loo...

Re: Premium to standard WBB result no Voip audio incoming

Thanks for the info Arshad. I would be very happy if I can get these things working in a basic sort of way to tide me through the next few months without need for fixed line.
(Mind you, if I had the spare cash I would just do fixed line anyway... ) :)
