Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Update: now fixed, can connect to wireless network. All I had to do was update the firmware on the Netgear WG602 (as well as SystemPrefs-Network-Airport-manual DHCP to the Netgear IP address space 192.168.0.210) I'm not usually fond of this expression, but... "O...M....G" ...should have checked firm...

Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Hi guys, we're finally online via Netgear wireless Router and DLink modem! (But there's a "but") I used Ethernet cable to set up the Netgear, had to set IP of the Mac manually in System Prefs to 127.168.0.210, like in the manual Kavinda linked to. (I'd been trying to do it via Airport instead of Eth...

Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Thanks Dazzled, I'll try it

Ha, I'd rather plug it in and forget about it (because it works) than have "lots of fun"

Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Under the Netgear router is marked "NETGEARxxxxxx" (the xx's are 6 letters and numbers)... is this the SSID? I've tried typing "http://NETGEARxxxxxx" into the browser address box, it didn't connect. This is while the Netgear Router is connected via network cable to the Apple Mac. (DLink modem not co...

Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

OK I'll try connecting the DLink (modem) to the Mac and looking for an assigned DHCP address. I recall the DLink did show it assigned a MAC address which is different to the Apple Mac Airport MAC address (both twelve digits, Hexadecimal) However I think I should be able to connect the Apple Mac to t...

Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Thanks KavindaS, hopefully I can connect to continue with the procedure Charles: I don't think I tried the address "192.168.1.1" so I'll try that when I get back home. I had pressed the "RESTORE" button (required a small sharp object), holding it for 30 seconds and turning the power off and on again...

Re: Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Hi Charles, Thanks for your reply! I tried to access the Netgear WG602 using my Apple Mac OSX both wirelessly and wired (with a network cable) by typing into a browser the following: http://192.168.0.227 (the default manufacturer) http://192.168.0.1 (default for my old Netgear DG834G modem/router) h...

Using NETGEAR WG602 with Apple Mac OSX

Hi Exetel Forum, I wonder if you could help me, please! A few days ago my Netgear DG834G stopped working (power light comes on but goes off sometimes, and other lights don't come on). I assume it is Broken. So I obtained a second hand DLink DSL-502T (modem router) and Netgear WG602 (wireless router)...

OCV10, OCV200

Hi, I had just logged into Exetel and was about to change from NAK2A to OCV200 when I noticed today there is now a new plan OCV10. Can I change between OCV200 and OCV10 without penalty if I change my mind? I am wary that there will be yet another new, better, cheaper plan without notice, as I only c...

Re: Cost to call freecall 1800 numbers?

Thank you. Another Q: when we signed up to the NAK2A plan in September 2009, if I remember correctly there was another plan option that did not have 100 free calls and was $5 cheaper (NAK2 perhaps?) otherwise identical with 6GB (peak) on ADSL2, $3/GB extra. Is there any extra service that we now hav...

Cost to call freecall 1800 numbers?

Hello, I am on the Exetel plan NAK2A which used to have 100 free landline calls per month, but now to cost 10c per call. I was wondering what is the cost to call a freecall 1800 number (within Australia) or emergency 000, or 13- numbers?

Thanks for your help, yes it was a pro-rata charge for the remainder of the month that my internet service started.

Re: What is the $10.50 charge?

Thanks for responding. We have not received any invoices by mail or by email after 3 weeks of the new service, so I'll call Exetel.

What is the $10.50 charge?

Hello, we commenced Exetel's Naked ADSL service about 2 weeks ago and have since been charged $40 (probably for set up fee), $45 (probably for the 1st advance payment monthly fee, which were expected) but also $10.50. During the application process we chose not to "Port" our Telstra land-line phone ...

Re: Naked ADSL2 - No line

Hi, that sounds like my problem. I'm guessing Exetel service is at fault, because my modem has all the green lights on and can be logged-into saying "Authentication - Connected". But no internet access.
