Re: Virgin Prepaid Mobile Broadband starter kit and Exetel SIM

I had to do three things: (1) Find out unlock code http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=5208158&postcount=19265 (2) Install unlocker "HUAWEI MODEM Code Writer.zip" http://www.entsperren.net/HUAWEI/HUAWEI%20MODEM%20Code%20Writer.zip (3) Run a generic connection manager "Mobile_Partner.rar"...

Re: Virgin Prepaid Mobile Broadband starter kit and Exetel SIM

When I try to connect I get he follow message "You can not connect before register an available network" yes the English is not so good. Did you unplug the modem while you put the new sim in? I have found that you can not swap sims with the modem plugged in as the new network does not register. Wha...

Re: Virgin Prepaid Mobile Broadband starter kit and Exetel SIM

Ok I have read the forum but not quite sure what I have to do to get my HSPA service working. I have a Virgin Prepaid E160e modem and just activated my Exetel SIM. In my Virgin connection utility I have created a second profile with the APN (static) set to exetel1. I have tried this with and without...

Re: Home Renovation/Short Term Moves - Best ADSL Option?

It looks like it is impossible to find the E1762 on prepaid anymore. I am trying to determine if it is worthwhile ordering the E1762 from Exetel for $165 or use the E160e that I can got from DSE. The primary location of use will be Scarborough in Perth. Will I notice a significant speed difference a...

Re: Home Renovation/Short Term Moves - Best ADSL Option?

Are the Virgin/Vodafone modems etc not locked to their networks? Or is it ok because they use the Optus network? The Virgin E1762 that I purchased prior to Christmas was only locked to Optus. Regards Cheers and you got that from Dick Smiths... I would assume that the model is not important, just th...

Re: Home Renovation/Short Term Moves - Best ADSL Option?

My house is going through renovation at the moment and I have to move out in less than 2 weeks (to a nearby suburb). Since the renovation work is probably going to take around 6 months, I am looking at the best option to get myself connected at the property I am moving to, and then re-connect the s...

Re: Home Renovation/Short Term Moves - Best ADSL Option?

If anyone can help on this question that would be great. I am basically in the same situation. By the looks of it, my best option might be to cancel my Naked ADSL service and then just start a new service. The ADSL 2 options with a 12 month contract and $100 cancellation fee seem to be cheaper than ...

Re: Moving a naked ADSL2 connection

Further to this I see the cost are $90 and an early cancellation $100. How does the early cancellation fee apply? I have had my existing service for well over 24months so I am no longer in the early cancellation period. If I move my service do I have a new minimum contract period and therefore a new...

Re: Moving a naked ADSL2 connection

Hi Just thought I would pick up on this thread. I am having trouble finding/understanding what is involved and what are the costs of a relocation service. Currently I have a Exetel Naked ADLS 2 NONPHONE Z service. I am about to commence house renovations and so will be out of my property for 9 month...
