Mobile Reception / Congestion
Hi guys, I have been very happy with all my customer service from Exetel (two mobile services and ADSL2), but I am sad to say that my next phone purchase (my current one is 900MHz only) will probably be taking a SIM from Aldi. I understand that Optus' network is entirely out of Exetel's control, but...

Plan change without resetting contract length
Hi, We're in a rental house-sharing arrangement and can't guarantee we'll still be living here in twelve months' time. However, our current OP15 plan is not enough and we'd like to upgrade to OP75. Is there any way of doing this without restarting our contract length? I've been with Exetel for a fai...

Re: Anyone rocking a Galaxy Nexus (or some other ICS)?
*bump*. got it working after screwing around a little with Eclipse. Yay open source. Fixed version attached, however it's signed by me, thus the signature is different to the market version, thus you will both have to uninstall the existing one first, and also live with not being notified when a pro...

Re: SMS Pricing
What I was trying to hint at was, why is it cheaper to route an SMS via the US than do it locally?

Optus Pre-paid
Considering purchasing a new handset, and a question sprang to mind - Optus pre-paid phones are locked to the Optus network; Exetel HSPA is a rebadging of said network. Will my Exetel HSPA SIM work in a locked Optus pre-paid phone?

Re: SMS Pricing
are you able to give us a rundown of the actual problems that you guys are experiencing with routing? if it's a case of Telstra just being dicks, is there a chance of getting the ACCC involved? (they'll jump at any chance they can get to have a go at Telstra, and I'm sure some of the other budget ca...

Forward incoming SMSes to email
Hi,
If I have an Exetel HSPA sim, is there any way to forward any incoming SMSes to that account to either an email address of my choosing, or an Exetel-hosted email? It looks like [Registered] email to SMS services do not give this service.
Thanks,
Jarrad

Can't connect to outside Exetel's network
Hi, Got an Exetel (Optus) HSPA sim in my Nokia E55 Symbian 3.2 phone, connected by bluetooth and blueman/network-manager to my xubuntu laptop. Haven't tried it for a few weeks, but on the bus this morning I find I can't get outside Exetel's network on it. e.g. jarrad@theodore ~> tracepath google.com...

Re: Exetel MoIP
Been using a Nokia e55 with the native VoIP capabilities over Exetel HSPA (Optus 3G), g729 codec, works fine as long as there's decent coverage. Success throughout most of Melbourne, it beats congested wifi as well (i.e. Monash Clayton). Dodgy reception is more of a problem for VoIP than for standar...

Re: Exetel MoIP
Crashes on launch for me with Nokia e55. Worked with sms for a while (as long as it used cellular data, wifi would cause a crash), but last night I had to run a factory reset: after reinstalling it now won't launch at all. I still think an MTM to integrate with the built in messaging functions would...
