Re: Billed for a month when I haven't moved in yet...

Thanks for the reply. I understand that option is not there now, I wasn't sure how long it would take to set the connection up, and with so much else to plan with moving house I got in early to start the process well ahead of time.

Re: Billed for a month when I haven't moved in yet...

Well, I got told I have to pay anyway, as I didn't nominate a start date for the service - which wasn't an option when I ordered the service online, which was what I was told to do when I called. I will just suck it up I guess, I've had good service for so many years and next to no outages with Exet...

Billed for a month when I haven't moved in yet...

Hi there, As I'm moving house at the end of the month, I thought I would arrange my wireless NBN with you guys well in advance as I did not know how long the process would take. I actually move in on 31/8 - the service was activated on 1/8 which was quicker than I expected (bravo!) However at no poi...

My phone number is listed again - asked for unlisted

I have always had an unlisted number for professional reasons, when I had a Telstra landline. When I went over to a naked / VOIP package with Exetel I didn't even consider my number being listed so imagine my horror when I was told my name, address and phone number were in the hardcopy White Pages a...

Why am I being charged for "included" local VOIP calls?

I have the NF/23NOTEL plan, which I understood to include 100 free local VOIP calls. We would not make this many calls in a month anyway. My latest invoice showed that I have been charged for 38 local VOIP calls, which is all we made for the month. So it appears I'm being billed for something that s...

Re: ATA port forwarding for file sharing apps

Yes, I understand about port forwarding. But I don't want to change other settings to find they affect something I didn't expect them to - like what happened with port forwarding on the ATA. I did that and my VOIP no longer worked and I don't understand why. I don't want to address a minor problem o...

Re: ATA port forwarding for file sharing apps

I don't really understand half what you just said - so best to adopt the old "If it aint broke, don't fix it." rationale, I reckon....

But thanks for the suggestion all the same.

Re: ATA port forwarding for file sharing apps

Port forward the LAN address. The WAN address gets the packets as far as the gateway, and the router takes care of the final destination. Port 5060 UDP. Hmmm, I did that and my SIP light went out and would not come back on even after a reboot. Upon removing the forwarding rule and rebooting the ATA...

ATA port forwarding for file sharing apps

Hello everyone. Previously I had forwarded a range of ports on my NB6 to allow UTorrent unimpeded access. Now, since I have added an ATA to the network my UTorrent is telling me I'm at least partially blocked - I assume the ATA is the cause. Though UTorrent seems to be working it's perhaps not as go...

Re: No SIP light on V210P and I have NFI why

You need to use the password that is relared to your VoIP number. You can find it in your member facility at Manage VoIP Services/Change VoIP Service Success! I had no idea, I was never sent this password or informed about it - I just assumed it was the same as for my net access. Bless you s...

Re: No SIP light on V210P and I have NFI why

You probably have port forwarding right. DMZ (Demilitarised Zone, as in Korea) is an alternative, described in the manual. You may have a firewall in your computer, but there is the extremely effective Linux firewall iptables in the router, to provide the NAT protection to your whole network. Port ...

Re: No SIP light on V210P and I have NFI why

Thankyou all for your help so far. I've checked the cables and visually they seem to have all the pins wired up. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. Modem port forwarding, also called virtual server (a Linux term) is described in the modem user manual in the pages following from page 80. This process is ne...
