Re: VoIP via Fring - can't dial internationally?
Ok I think I have the answer for anyone who finds this thread through searching. I added Macy's as a contact in my iPhone contacts list with the phone number stored as shown by felix. Fring then uses the number as stored in contacts and does not change anything (I was using the 'Dialer' previously w...

Re: VoIP via Fring - can't dial internationally?
Thanks felix. The number I am trying to call is toll free 1800 289 6229, which I think is 800 289 6229 non toll free. It is Macy's department store.
When I dial 0011 with fring it changes the '001' to '+1'. I think this is likely to be my problem?

VoIP via Fring - can't dial internationally?
I don't use my VoIP account much these days, but I need to make a call to the USA and I'm having a hard time of it. I have set up Fring on iPhone to do the job. I can dial my home PSTN number and listen to my answering machine message just fine, but when I try to make an international call - Fring j...

Change $5 plan to Free backup plan?
I've just ordered a plan change for the office (this IP), changing to telstra ADSL2. Is it possible to change the $5/month hspa plan we already have to the free backup plan which comes with telstra ADSL2 plans?

Re: ADSL2+ on Telstra Exchanges
If I'm on 8192 already and that adsl2exchanges websites calculator thing works out a theoretical maximum of 8xxx ish, is there any point changing to ADSL2? Could the estimate be out a couple of meg? Any estimate should be taken as an estimate only. Line frequencies for ADSL1 are to 1.1Mhz, for ADSL...

I'm on FP-D2, I'll probably change to TE-M if not ADSL2, as I don't use much data these days (so data...

Re: Possible Further Changes To Off Peak Period
If you've reversed the trend, why not reverse your reaction. Perhaps Exetel is in the unique position of not requiring an off peak component in plans for new users. You might be able to create some very attractive offers for new customers due to this 'problem'. Obviously there would remain a need to...

Re: Revisions To ADSL1 Plans
I'm confused.
So the first $10 of calls to landlines are free, but you must have a $5/month minimum plan to take advantage of this?

Re: Modem trouble?
It's not P2P afaik - I have just checked my usage and it is normal. Also our line is 8192k/s so there should be ample bandwidth anyway. I'm fairly confident it's not a PC issue. My wife and I use laptops, both running a trend micro anti-virus program and she says hers is affected in the same way. I ...

Modem trouble?
Over the last few days my browsing has been slow and often times out. Just prior to this my voip stopped working - the voip dial tone was still there, but nothing happened after I dialed a number. After switching the modem off and on the voip is working again, but browsing is slower than it should b...

Why don't you get HSPA instead?

I'd swear I replied to that question last night, I guess I mustn't have.jok11n wrote:are you using an Exetel HSPA service?
Anyway - I am not using any HSPA service. I was trying to get both the native voip and Fring (which did work but with an unsatisfactory delay) working via my home wifi network.
