UDP Throttling
Hi I use a site to site IPSEC VPN. I manage the Exetel FTTN and FTTP connections at BOTH ends. Both run Cisco hardware vpns and have been bullet proof till I switched over to NBN on both sides. Now at about 7pm-11pm every night the VPN drops 90% packets and i have a suspicion this is due to Exetel t...

Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTP
Thanks for checking its online. I got lucky and tried out a new config using a switchport (with the wan service) to a separate VLAN and it worked. I'll post my config for anyone else out there with a weird Cisco obsession like myself. hostname RTR01 clock timezone AEST 10 clock summer-time AEDT recu...

Cisco 887 Config for FTTP
Hi everyone, Wondering if anyone has connected a Cisco 887 or similar to a FTTP service? I'm trying to connect to an Exetel service which terminates as copper (so I'm using Fe0 port on the 887) with PPPoE for authentication. I'll post my existing config below which I cant get to work, so if anyone c...

Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTN

Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTN
Hi guys, Firstly I want to say I appreciate all the help and responses especially from Exetel. In saying that though the configuration supplied above did not work for me. Now there may be another way to mate an ATM type setup work with FTTN but for now I've made it work another way. This was suggest...

Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTN
Seems the 877VA will handle PPPoE, so does Exetel deliver FTTN via IPOE or PPPoE?
Thanks in advance

Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTN
I haven't given any thought to it, but this http://pingbin.com/2014/09/cisco-887va-m-vdsl2-pppoe-configuration/ seems to get VDSL out of an 887. Maybe? Hi Dazzled, Thanks for finding the article, that should be big help. My connection goes active in 2 weeks so I'll be able to test out this config a...

Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTN
Hi Exetel! Great to hear your input and I fully understand Exetel only being able to look after supported modems.... I just wondered if there were any other Cisco users out there who could give me a head-start. If you have a quick look here you'll see that the 887VA is actually VDSL2 cabable (sorry ...

Cisco 887 Config for FTTN
Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone has connected a Cisco 887 or similar to Exetel FTTN? If so, would you mind posting your config or at least the bits I should change (as it's currently configured for an ADSL connection)
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

MX Record for Exetel Backup/Failover Server
Hi everyone. I have setup my exetel hosted DNS records to point mail at my server at home - this works fine. I would also like to have a backup or failover server hold my mail if my mail server goes offline. Im sure I have seen somewhere on Exetels website that it is possible. I want it to hold my m...
