Terrible experience switching plans

Word of warning out there for anyone thinking of switching their home phone service to Exetel. Don't cancel your current phone provider until it's been switched over. I cancelled my home phone first thinking it wouldn't be an issue, there was absolutely no warning that it would cause a problem, but ...

Re: Issues changing plan to bundled w/telephone

Absolute joke Exetel. Not that bad that you can't do it although I still don't understand why you can't just connect my phone, which you're going to do now, as a new service anyway, just to get my $100 new "Activation fee" for an ADSL service that is literally already activated according to my modem...

Issues changing plan to bundled w/telephone

Hi, I'm having trouble getting my plan changed to a new one with a bundled telephone package. I don't have an active phone service at the house, the old one which is also my account/service number (0397405554) was cancelled, which was the main motivation for the plan change in the first place... I c...

ADSL auth issues - absolutely no help from support

So, I've had issues with my line for months, years even with dropouts due to line quality, every time this was an issue I was unable to achieve sync. But just weeks ago I got a tech from the landlines company out to fix them (not for the first time) and things have been perfectly stable since. Now I...

Intermittent Extremely Slow Speeds - sunbury

Hi, I've been having issues with my connection since I changed to ADSL2 in February. I really want to fix this issue so I recently upgraded my modem/router to a netgear n600, and all phone lines/filters in the house. I have completed isolation tests while the issue was occurring to no avail. These c...

Re: High ping times+loss and frequent drop-outs

Thanks for the informative post, I got a response to my ticket basically saying it's on my side... But the latency is gone which was my main concern, still dropping out but it's few and far between, I'll just let it go until it gets worse then get a tech out.

High ping times+loss and frequent drop-outs

Just posting to notify/possibly get help if the problem turns out to be on my end for a problem I've been having for most of the day. I'm located on the Sunbury (VIC) exchange. Ever since the start of the month I've noticed DNS problems which aren't much of a big deal along with minor spikes in late...

Re: Slow speeds (international) offpeak

It appears to have gone away tonight (which is great)

Thank you for your responses regardless. I'll post tracert's if it starts happening again (hopefully I won't need to.)

Re: Slow speeds (international) offpeak

These are the off-peak speed test results for comparison. Actually getting a poor speed from exetel itself (but fine from a melbourne server on speedtest). Something gotta be goin on... No torrents, not downloading, wi-fi off, clean pc, any ideas? It's driving me crazy. Exetel Your current bandwidth...

Re: Slow speeds (international) offpeak

OK, I will post the peak time speed tests now. Which are fine. And I'll post again in off-peak once we get to midnight for comparison. Exetel Your current bandwidth reading is: 1.27 Mbps which means you can download at 162.95 KB/sec. from our servers. Melbourne http://www.speedtest.net/result/779461...

Slow speeds (international) offpeak

Hi, I'm on a TL-C2 ADSL plan (pretty sure its 1mbps) living in Sunbury, Victoria, and I've recently been experiencing slow speeds (below 256k) off-peak to servers outside Australia which is most notably making streaming impossible without buffering. This has only been occuring for roughly the last w...
