Well, got a call today, apparently I cannot be upgraded. :( I live in bloody suburbia and Telstra offers ADSL2+ here! Only problem with that is, I'd rather be *beep**'d and thrown into a *beep* *beep* orange track suit under a *beeeeeep* than connect through Telstra!

Re: Upgraded to ADSL2 but still have ADSL1 speed

I'm in the same boat as these folks. Swapover happened on the 28th, as of this morning, still pulling 1.31Mbps according to speedtestdotnet.

To thejeg, I've also sent you an email. Cheers mate.

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Righto, went with tech support, he had me change the SIP Expire Time. User guide for the v220 specified 240, tech supp. said go with 3600. Now, I had tried jacking it up to 80000, but to no avail. The change to 3600 seems to have solved it as far as my 1 minute test goes. I'll be interested to see i...

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Arggh! :x Back to the 30 second cutoff again! Setup the DMZ host with the ATA's IP, still cutting off. I thought technology was supposed to make our lives easier!

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Well, today's update, after my successful updating of the router FW, and susequent test, managed to make a couple of international calls today without a problem! 1 chat was over an hour and clear as a bell so, for now, the problem appears to be resolved!

Thanks for all the help!

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Righto, tried with and without caller ID enabled, updated firmware, adjusted the SIP Expire Time to 240 per the updated user guide, calls are dropping out at precisely 32 seconds, every single time. Bizarre! *EDIT* Updated my router firmware, seems to have done the trick. Made it past the 1 minute b...

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

In my defence, I've never had this happen in my 37 years! The cause of this baffling problem? Handset chose this moment in time to crap itself. Hooked up the old fax/phone... we have 2 way communication again, clear as a bell. I knew the router and ATA settings were right! Or are they? Now th...

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Tried setting up the QoS, still getting one way communication. I've even tried the DMZ a few days ago, don't know if I had it set up correctly though as it did not work either, the same problem persisted. I found this elsewhere: I'm no expert, but I just went through two weeks of VOIP hell myself. H...

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Yes, my router has seen and assigned the ATA an IP, which in this instance, is 192.168.1.5. This is the same IP I have used in the port forwarding. I just don't understand how everything was working fine for days and then just stopped working properly. IE: one way communication. All of the troublesh...

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

I'm wondering now, is there somewhere in my router configuration that I need to specify the 192.168.22.1 IP of my ATA?

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Hey mate, thanks for your help! What I've done to my router: 1: Assigned a static IP for the ATA under advanced>local network>DHCP server. I added the ATA preferred IP to the 'reserved IP address' list. 2: Setup port forwarding using - external host[IP-All, protocol-UDP, port-5060] internal host[pre...

Re: Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Sweet, that was the problem, thanks!. Had to hook the laptop up to get into the admin panel. After that it was all systems go! Worked great for several days but now is cutting off after a minute of talking or so. VOIP is this close to being filed in the 'too hard basket'!

Set up Voip with V220 ATA and Netcomm NB6W

Hi, Can't seem to get out of the gate with this one! I've tried connecting this unit per the 'setup instructions' however, I cannot get my browser to find the 192.168.22.1 address. No control panel, no internet access, nothing at all! When I have everything connected per the instructions, the 'Ether...
