Re: A & CNAME Records
It should go without saying, it isn't the products but rather the service (facilities), but many telcos (such as a former monopoly operator) have been where exetel is right now, the only difference may be that they either listened to customers or were able to implement much needed facilities in a ti...

Re: A & CNAME Records
What I really would like to do is be able to have my registration at another registrar/provider who does not charge extra for domain hosting (or it is included in the price) and point the domain to a free web hosting somewhere on the internet (again at another provider) but still use exetels' web ho...

Re: Website Name field can't be edited.
Hi,
The engineers have changed the name of the web hosting, but is it possible to use it (web hosting) as a sub domain instead?

Re: Please delete database & website from Exetel server
James,
I called today and an order has been put through but I'm not sure if I will be able to obtain a refund on my web hosting but saying that I'd be happy if I can use Exetel webhosting as a subdomain, ie for files linked to from a domain even so is this possible at all?

Re: Why do we need to log in twice?
Corey, it's the fact that the logins are cumulative, but fortunately I get around this issue by using a password storage application in the browser called LastPass.

Re: Pensioner Broadband Plans?
That's probably right, but does it mean that there can't be quality facilities or is the underlying "service" all that matters?ForumAdmin wrote:I don't think that Exetel has a single ADSL plan that makes $10.00 profit.

Re: Can a domain name be changed at any time?
Hi, As unfortunate as it is for myself as a customer to not have access to the helpdesk being a web hosting only customer, I am however wanting to remain hopeful for the future. Another question I have is, is it possible to have my web hosting as a subdomain from another registrar? Hoping for a clea...

Re: Can a domain name be changed at any time?
Hi James, This was part of the problem, I cannot respond to Tickets, only emails, which is the reason I have come here and while I am most happy that Exetel have been able to change my web hosting, I do believe much can be done in the area of customer service since it has taken many paths whereas ha...

Re: Can a domain name be changed at any time?
Indeed a Senior Engineer was able to change the "domain name" of the website, of which I am most grateful.
Would it be possible now to delete the database in order so I can start again, since I don't seem to be able to do this myself in the control panel.

Can a domain name be changed at any time?
I had ordered a new domain name via Exetel and subsequently transferred it to another registrar since I wasn't informed of there being any additional "domain hosting" charges but my actual web hosting uses an old name which is no longer registered. My question is can this be changed or do I need to ...

Please delete database & website from Exetel server
This is now the 3rd time I have asked in both the forum and email, since when I changed my webname I was not told I'd have to pay for new hosting, which likely constitutes a pattern of the Exetel service paradigm in that I was not told I'd need Domain Hosting, moreover when I did use a 3rd party DNS...

Re: Please remove website
Hi james, Thanks for replying. I'm using a free web host at this time but it's very basic, however I am wondering why when I changed my domain name, eg I had registered it with Exetel, only to discover that I needed to pay extra for domain hosting, and all the while when I was trying to use a 3rd pa...

Re: Website Name field can't be edited.
I just got an email from level 1 support, it seems the hosting is for a "different" domain. Why doesn't anyone actually tell you the rules, when you ask this kind of question in the forum? Is it that no one here knows, or is there some kind of commercial confidentiality? Quite poor service might I a...
