Re: Linksys PAP2 problems

Hard code the ATA so it uses G.711 as the codec and see if that helps.

Re: Cisco 827

The config provided by Dazzle would do the trick fine :)

Other than that a quick skim through your config, reason you dont have sync is your PVC is wrong.

Change it from 1/1 to 8/35

Re: 857W Configuration

Thanks John-e, My current issue is port forwarding and port translation. I need to be able to forward a dozen or so ports (although I am looking at paring this down some with this router) for access from external networks. I have tried various forms of static and dynamic NAT to no avail. I usually ...

Re: 857W canned configuration

Yes you will need a contract or smartnet agreement with Cisco in order to get access to their old/new IOS. I just skimmed through your configuration and dont see anything wrong with it, what is the problem with it now? Oh you may want to set an ip address for your Vlan 1 interface and enable "ip nat...

Re: Almost all calls randomly drop out

Just register a softphone and see if you can replicate the problem on the softphone?

That is assuming everything is fine and nothing is wrong with your internet link.

Re: Multiple Computer+Softphones on Single DID

That is correct, only the client with the most recent/latest registration will recieve a call. You can make as many calls as you like at the same time, but it is dependant on the sip client used and bandwidth. There should be line 1, line 2 buttons on the softphone to enable you to atleast make 2 ca...

Re: VOIP busy signal dialling out

Chargers are based on your DID number..

So if you are in Sydney and have a QLD DID, and your neighbour calls you he will be charged a STD rate.

It does not matter what the type of dial/ring tone is when they call.

Re: Redirecting VoIP

I dont see any reasons why it would not work..

All that you want is hardware dependent not provider, so as long as you source out the right hardware you will be fine..
