Fibre is already a digital signal - a modem is not required. You could connect a single computer directly (not very convenient most of the time) or connect a wired or wireless router (not an ADSL modem-router). (see for example http://www.jmgtechnology.com.au/, links at bottom left). You would norm...

Re: Best Router\Modem - Access Point Combination

Best Router\Modem - Access Point Combination

Hi,

I need to have a router\modem outside of my house for a fibre connection authentication and an access point inside for my wireless network.

What is the best combination of devices to use? or are there specific packages for this purpose?

Thank you.

Re: FTTH - Parkbridge Estate - Speed issues - whats happenin

Udara's handling your problem, and I'll leave it to him, but I'm intrigued. Fibre is only an incoming ethernet line; why did you re-arrange the hardware setup? Re: FTTH - Parkbridge Estate NSW - setup/problems/speed

Thank you for the response. I had long discussions with technical support dept. in the past. I just want to share and know if there are other Exetel Fibre users in the Estate and maybe compare my setup, system and plan to come up with a better solution as since I moved from Internode to Exetel I am ...
