Ok, thanks.
Just thought if there was some sort of notification then I would know and could reinforce the "use of a mobile" rules in our house. :)

Plus it would mean that if Exetel does get a charge then it would reduce the incidents of these.

Re: Mobile plans

I have another query too. Am thinking about getting a mobile for my son who will start High School next year. I was looking at the M8 plan for this so he could send a text or call if he needs to. Reading through the plans and mobile usage there was mention of Premium SMS being blocked by default - t...

Re: Mobile plans

Hi, How does the "Comparison" tab work on the Manage Services > Mobile Broadband & Mobile area within the Members Facilites? Is there several months that are compared? To me the is just a table of numbers without much explination around them eg. Mobile Plan Name Mothly Charge CAP35 $53.70 M8 $23.10 ...

Move from AAPT AAB to Telstra TCV20-50

Hi

These plans look good.
I would not be changing telephone providers as I am on the Telstra homeline budget plan.
Given this, would there be any down time to move to one of the Telstra plans?

Thanks.

Re: Siemens SpeedStream 4200

Thanks for the ever fast response CoreyPlover!! What static IP address? I thought it was a selling point that the IP was static? They got one in an email and I see it in their User Facilities page. I tried with just the modem to the wall then to the pc. Still no go. Have also tested with a different...

Re: Siemens SpeedStream 4200

I know this is an old thread but is what I am trying to do for sister in law. She has moved from BP to Exetel but unable to get connection. Have reset modem to default. Entered ID and password but no joy. Had a look at the Exewiki and tried the details in there for "client only"- eventually want to ...

Re: Need to lock down HSPA connection?

There are devices like ....... Thanks Corey, looks interesting. I think I would rather buy one outright and use my Exetel/Otpus sim that is currently in my USB modem than go with Vodafone. Not that I have any issue with them per se (in fact I have an Exetel/Vodafone mobile that works just fine) mor...

Re: Need to lock down HSPA connection?

If you have a Huawei or similar USB stick plugged directly into the computer, think of it as a dial-up modem, only using a mobile phone connection instead of a land line. It is as secure as a mobile phone. Awesome, thanks for the fast responses jokiin and Dazzled. Yes, I should have specified am us...

Need to lock down HSPA connection?

Hi

Had a bit of a search around and didn't see anything.

Is there any need to "lock down" an HSPA connection so others cannot piggyback off it?
Like the wireless on a router?

If so, how does one do this?

Thanks

Re: ADSL2+ on Telstra Exchanges

Got more questions after looking at the plans available to me. All show as requiring a 12 month contract, is this valid since I have been using their infrastructure for sometime now? Or would this be classifed as a speed change only? The mention of "12 month" raised a number of posts in this thread...

Re: ADSL2+ on Telstra Exchanges

It might, it depends on what you have attached right now and your overall line quality and distance. I have a Billion 7500G.....not sure on line quality (phone is good, no static plus I use ExeVoip) would have to check signal level in the modem when I get home. I will try swapping to ADSL2 and 2+ t...

Re: ADSL2+ on Telstra Exchanges

I do not have anything listed for ADSL1 at all, just the options that I already pasted. You are already on ADSL2+ via our other supplier - AAPT. Thanks JasonM Wow, don't check back for a few days and this thread gets another 6 or 7 pages added to it!! Well that is "great" news that I can get ADSL2....
