Re: Slow speeds in the evening on Optus unlimited plan?

Could you PM me the same information? If there is a process to stay with Exetel (even involving disconnection/reconnection) on a Telstra port, that would be my preferred choice. Unfortunately there was no such option offered. As I understand it, moving to a Telstra port involves disconnection/cance...

Re: Slow speeds in the evening on Optus unlimited plan?

Only way of moving the service to different infrastructure is by cancelling this service and submitting a new order. Due to long term procedure/charges involved we will not be able to transfer the service into different infrastructure. Hi Shamin. Thanks for replying. Can I please clarify, basically...

Re: Slow speeds in the evening on Optus unlimited plan?

I'm also at the end of my tether regarding the slow speeds on my Optus ADSL2+ plan. I've been with Exetel since July 2004, and I don't want to go anywhere, but the service is all-but unusable between 5pm and midnight, and recently, most of the weekend. I'm connected to the Wallsend NSW exchange, and...

Unfortunately my application got rejected again using the account number you sent me. I've opened a support ticket to hopefully find out what is going on. Thanks for trying to help though.

Re: OPTUS Account Number

Hello,
I have tried porting to Kogan mobile using the account number listed in the Exetel user facilities, but this is apparently incorrect, as the transfer has failed.
Can I also please have my account details emailed to me?
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: The Exetel 6-year club

It will be reconsidered and then re-presented. I for one would love it if this scheme got approved. I've been a continuously connected Exetel customer since 17th July 2004, missing the pioneer discount cutoff by just 17 days (apparently). With or without the pioneer discount, it's still been the be...

Re: Pioneer Discount Increase

Makes me sad that I missed the Pioneer discount cutoff by 18 days. Date of activation: 18th July 2004. Ah well, still unbeatable value and service (which is why I'm still here nearly 6 years later).

Re: ADSL2+ Wallsend exchange again

apat can you post some tests?? Speeds do indeed seem to be affected at present. I'm currently synched at (with a Billion 7404VGP-M): Upstream 816700 Downstream 7763500 While my pings were down at 30ms a week or so ago, speeds of 750KB/s+ were easily achievable. But now: http://www.speedtest.net/res...

Re: ADSL2+ Wallsend exchange again

Hi Jason, Did Optus ever get back to you as to whether the general latency increase in your link above was the culprit? I'm still running Pingplotter 24/7, and after a few weeks of solid 30ms pings, at 19/6/09 11:33am my pings again jumped to ~60ms, and have remained there ever since. No doubt they ...

Re: ADSL2+ Wallsend exchange again

Nevermind. At 1:37am yesterday my pings dropped by 50% and returned to 30ms just as quickly and mysteriously as they increased 2 weeks ago.

Now we sit and wait to see what else Optus throws at us.

Re: ADSL2+ Wallsend exchange again

Jason (or anyone)...Is this something I/we should be logging a support ticket for? Or are you able to get in contact with Optus to find out what has caused this jump in pings? I suspect that they simply aren't aware that this jump has happened, especially considering pings were perfect immediately f...

Re: ADSL2+ Wallsend exchange again

Hello again, There is definitely something strange which has occurred at Wallsend exchange. Speed wise, my connection is now superb, and I personally don't have a speed problem (I've just completed a speed test and achieved 803KB/s on a 7500 downstream sync). I have however been running Pingplotter ...

Re: ADSL2+ Wallsend exchange slow

My pings have stayed consistent at 30ms since 2:30am this morning, with full speed and no packet loss. It is nice to have a broadband connection back again.
