Re: Slow speeds - only 2km from Bendigo Exchange!

Hi thanks for posting Dazzled. Quiet, sleepy old Bendigo is definitely on a grid and (sadly!) property values have not created a sub-division frenzy yet. That's why I am bewildered that Exetel have sent me an e-mail claiming I am 4.6 km away. It also doesn't make sense that my neighbours are on sign...

Re: Slow speeds - only 2km from Bendigo Exchange!

Hi thanks for responding. I have sent a follow-up question via response e-mail.

I am very curious about the claim that my distance is 4.6km. It's a 1.9km walk to the exchange, which is 1.6km away as the crow flies. Once again, thanks for your prompt response. Regards,

Re: Slow speeds - only 2km from Bendigo Exchange!

Hi Evilince,

Thanks for posting. My issues have been going on for more than a couple of days. The speed has been bad since I moved in in December, and its slowly getting worse approaching unbearable. Cheers,

Re: Voip constantly rings PSTN????

Just a follow up to this issue: I tried a factory reset on the netcomm modem; no success. I also tried various line filters. Again, this did not help. Eventually, I unplugged the PSTN line and lived with VOIP only until I could justify replacing my modem. I have now replaced the modem and so far the...

Slow speeds - only 2km from Bendigo Exchange!

I have been frustrated by my internet speeds at home for some time and now they are getting worse. I live (according to Google maps) 1.9km walking distance (so not as the crow flies) from the exchange and my attenuation stats seem 'reasonable': Attenuation (upstream) = 21.2 dB Attenuation (downstrea...

Re: Voip constantly rings PSTN????

Hi Imran. Thanks for posting. Well thanks for clarifying that hacking/ bot attacks would ring my VOIP number and not my PSTN line. That's what I thought. I am fairly sure it is the PSTN line that is ringing, due to description in original post. I have factory reset the modem and reconfigured. So far...

Voip constantly rings PSTN????

Hi folks, I am experiencing a very annoying issue with Netcomm VOIP modem. When I plug my phone line into the modem so that I can receive PSTN or VOIP calls, I get consistent "phantom" calls on my PSTN number. If I plug the phone directly into the line (via a filter) I get none of the phantom calls....

Re: No PSTN through Modem

Hi Dazzled,

Thanks very much. It wasn't working because I had not connected the PSTN line to the modem; only the ADSL. Thanks very much for pointing out my error. Problem solved.

No PSTN through Modem

Hi there Exetel Community. I have just recently moved house, and kept my Internet service with Exetel. Where I was (Castlemaine), I was connected to a Telstra ADSL2 DSLAM. Here in Bendigo (I believe) I am connected to an Optus DSLAM. I don't have me VOIP with Exetel. Here is my problem: At my old ho...
