Re: New ADSL2+ plans for existing customers

I'll wait for now as none of the other plans currently available to me are worth the $20 to switch as far as I'm concerned.

Re: New ADSL2+ plans for existing customers

If I change now it will cost me $20 to change the plan, which also puts me on a new 12 month contract. That will mean that if I try to change when the current new plans are made available to existing customers I will be up for the $100 early exit fee as well as another $20 for a plan change. And "a ...

Re: New ADSL2+ plans for existing customers

My contract is up now, looking forward to changing to a new plan as soon as I can. Hopefully the wait isn't too long.

Re: ADSL2+ SNR settings

Ideally I'm just after a more stable connection, where the fox won't keep cutting in and out as it buffers. I've ditched the phone and wall filter, and set the SNR in the moden to 25, which gives about -5.5dB attenuation. My SNR for downstream is now around 7.7 and watching fox for about an hour las...

Re: ADSL2+ SNR settings

Thanks Dazzled, appreciate the input. I'll ditch the phone and filter plate. I'll check the other sockets, don't even know if they're live. Is there anything I can do with them? Find where they lead and disconnect them? What would you suggest I aim for on the SNR? It's currently around the 6 mark, m...

Re: ADSL2+ SNR settings

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a look into things a bit later, had enough for tonight. I can login at 192.168.1.254/snr.html to make changes, and have a table that shows what settings yield what SNR reductions. As you say, it's looking like a matter of trying a few until a decent stable connection ...

ADSL2+ SNR settings

Hi, Before contacting support I thought I'd try here before wasting too much of Exetels time. I've read that Exetel set the SNR on our lines, is there a way to find out what level is set to my line? I'm getting pretty slow speeds lately, speedtest.net is showing around 3.5Mbps. I'm also finding that...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

Am I correct in assuming that the OCV plans have no peak or offpeak and that the 200gb limit applies to the whole of each day across the month? That's the way I see it, and it doesn't bother me too much. The ONB plan I'm on now has 30 peak and 180 off peak, so in total I'm only 10Gb a monthless tha...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

Just looked again, yes Optus mobiles are free calls. Apologies for missing that.

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

So "naked' has absolutely no value to an end user at all - it was some sort of marketing con that some people seemed to find value with for reasons that were never clear to me or anyone else at Exetel. Optus is subsidising the free calls on this offer so take it for what it's worth - free local, na...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

I'm currently on the ONB Naked plan and am out of contract. I'm looking to switch to the OCV200 plan, does this mean I will no longer be on naked, and my phone line will be reactivated to a fully serviceable line? If this is the case, will my current VOIP number be moved over or will I get a new hom...

Re: VOIP showing as overseas caller and not connecting somet

Sorted by the look of it. One thing I didn't even think to try. Went into the wizard and copied the port 1 settings into port 2. Went into port 2 and changed codec to PCMA A-Law, and moved the phone cable to port 2 on the router. Restarted and now I can make calls. Seems port 1 is stuffed. I might t...

Re: Can't make Calls

Thanks. I'll look into it again and see if I've missed anything. But as I said, once I initially set it up it worked without issue for quite a few months, then the problem seemed to occur all of a sudden. I can't really afford to try new equipment at the moment, and don't see why I should, the OPEN ...

Re: Can't make Calls

Same issue here, been going on for some time now. Posted a thread but no one has offered any input. Can't be bothered logging a job as I rarely use the phone, it's more of a backup to the mobile. Thinking of just ditching it altogether and looing at another VOIP provider. I'm using an OPEN Networks ...

Still having issues. Have changed a couple of settings based on a couple of other threads relating to Billion hardware. Screen shots below. Any help?
