Re: DNS entry 58.96.1.28

I'm getting the same Primary DNS server address as 58.96.1.28 too. Presumably we can just deselect "Obtain DNS Automatically" and assign the correct address?

Re: Change ADSL2+ Plan

Shouldn't these new plans (OTL-A, B, etc) now be available from within our members area? I can't see them yet.

Re: Development Proposal for New Exetel Desktop SMS

In version 1.5 I could simply open the address book then double click the person I wished to message. I don't appear able to do that in this new version? I have to click "Add slected contact". Any chance of reinstating that old feature?

Re: Horrible speeds today

Same here, North Sydney.

I don't understand the huge variation in speeds I get day after day. One day it could be 6500kb/s, the next 1500kb/s. Today its more like 300kb/s, which is not much good.

Why the variations?

So, the long arm of Big Brother strikes again! KRudd and his cronies have begun their bid for control of the masses, (hmmm, just like China?).

This is an outrage!!!

Re: Mini Exetel Usage Meter now Available

Great tool, thanks. Is it possible to do away with the "are you sure?" message when shutting it down?

G'day u9026a, If I read your original post correctly, you have a contract with Exetel for your phone service. If that's the case, Optus cannot deal directly with you, their contract is with Exetel. So it would seem to me that Exetel need to correct the problem, even if it means Exetel just pass on ...

I sent an email complaint to Optus and received this: "If you are a customer of Exetel, unfortunately Optus are unable to assist you, as you are a customer which is not directly billing to Optus, at this stage you will need to point this matter to Exetel being your provider." Quite unbelievable, I c...

Telephone spam

Hi Having signed up with Exetel for ADSL + phone (Optus) and choosing a silent number, I am surprised to be getting three or phone calls per week from a marketing company representing Optus (so they say), trying to sell me a mobile phone. When I start asking questions about who the company is they r...

VOIP free calls?

I called to speak to a rep today and asked what I thought was a fairly easy question about the "free calls" mentioned on the site: "Naked" ADSL Plan Inclusions With each Exetel "Naked" ADSL2 plan you also get the following additional facilities: 100 local or STD calls at no charge if you use an Exet...

Your experience has been exactly the same as mine. All I wish to do is move house, take the same number and continue the same Optus ADSL2+ service as I currently have. I know that my new house uses exactly the same exchange so I have to ask, why the hell is it so bl**dy difficult? I've spoken to Exe...
