Re: Optus national roaming

Hi, I was just wondering about Optus national roaming. On my M plan it says All national roaming voice calls and SMS are excluded. My question is how do I tell on my android handset when I am on roaming? And would this happen very often? Vodafone/3 used to have a romaing agreement with Telstra, but...

Re: Wrong mobile plan ordered

That sounds like a generous offer from Exetel. Hope it works out for all.

Re: Email filter - spams galore

SPAM is an arms race between the spammers and everyone else, and the initiative sesaws back and forth. I haven't used the exetel spam service, and I haven't used an ISP email address for years, prefering to use gmail and am quite happy with it's included spam filter, which, while not perfect, is ver...

Re: Stolen phone and IMEI blocks

Does this mean the IMEI is blocked on:

1. the network the phone was connected to?
2. all australian networks?
3. all world wide networks (pipe dream here i know, but it would be nice to make stealing phones unprofitable)?
4 something else, please specify?

Thanks.

Re: Mobile plan change fees

Seems to be cheaper to churn away with a $2 sim, then churn back. Last time I did that there was a lot of hassle getting the churn to happen correctly quickly. Like phone number not fully deleted from Exetel's systems while trying to port back, and then sorting out lingering issues, filling out the...

Re: Make/receive calls without a DID

If she's running Exetel moip program she can run Skype. Install Skype on both mobiles and keep them running and you can have free calls and the equivalent of free texting. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately her mobile is a nokia, too old to run the latest skype application. When she was with ...

Re: Voicemail to email g/w dying as Exetel kill $0 VOIP DID

After growing disillusioned with the reality of VOIP over Optus HSPA, I had been using my HSPA DID as the forward destination for my missed calls on my mobile. If Exetel were to allow Exetel mobiles to do the same by forwarding to a particular number, that would be great. I guess the existing VOIP ...

Re: Optus 3G/HSPA coverage on NSW Central Coast

I gave up VOIP over 3G in & around Newcastle last year as a bad joke, and converted my WMA plan to a CAP plan. Mobile data does work, just not reliably or fast enough to consider using VOIP. Even running CSipSimple over Exetel VOIP over WiFi/ADSL wasn't great. I got a better voice connection via pen...

Re: Z plan Premium SMS status on website?

Seems like my HSPA account for 04.......8 neeeds a password reset, and maybe the email address needs to be reset to match my ADSL email address. The automated reset form doesn't seem to like me either at the moment.

I'd appreciate it if you could address that please shoner.

Re: Changing plans

Red tape on your end is the issue. Managment decision to not allow this kind of thing is just silly when you allow people to bring their PHONE number over to it. Hell, it was encouraged by one staff member at one point as they thought it silly not to use Moip where possible. While this is possibly ...

Re: Changing plans

When I had a CAP35, and wanted to port to Z15, I resorted to this process: 1. Schedule for near the end of the month. 2. Port to Optus Prepaid $2 SIM. 3. Select $2/day, disable data on phone, hope $20 recharge will last long enough. IIRC Optus Resller eg Virgin/TPG etc, rather than Optus, would take...
