Re: Problems with Z plan transfer

My phone's /system/etc/apns-conf.xml says:

<apn carrier="Optus MMS" mcc="505" mnc="02" apn="mms" user="*" password="*" server="*" proxy="202.139.83.152" port="8070" mmsc="http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/" mmsproxy="61.88.190.10" mmsport="8070" type="mms" />

YMMV

Re: Global Roaming & Members Facilities

Seems like there are currently two ways to enable Global Roaming. A. Manage->Mobile->Voicemail/Diversions: International Roaming checkbox B. Manage->Mobile->Global Roaming tab for scheduling start/stop. Should I use A to enable then B to schedule? Or does A activate now? Or will B work on it's own?...

Re: Gobal Roaming Charges

Generally the answer is "exorbitant".

I generally try to avoid voice, and stick to SMS.
I call forward all calls to my Exetel VOIP voicemail and it emails me a WAV file of the VM message.

This works fine for my purposes, may not be appropriate for you, but is a way to manage the cost.

Re: Activating SIM on new Z plan

My Z15 SIM seemed to be activated by Exetel 1 hour before I picked it up. Slightly miffed in that I planned to push the remaining prepaid credit to a friend. I would be more irritated if it cost me real money, rather than some time & confusion sorting it out.

Re: New "Z" plan Pricing

If you have ADSL, then I couldn't see why you would get a CAP10 when you could get a CAP19 cheaper. And while a CAP19 for $9/month is nice, a Z15 for $15/month takes you from 200MB/month to 1500MB/month which is a while lot of peace of mind vs data over quota charges, and the 13/1300/1800 inluded in...

Re: VoIP on Android phone

the inadequacies of the the Exetel VOIP system wrt +country-code-numbers. Can you please describe the problem with country code numbers? Yes, it won't accept +61 codes etc. It needs 0011 61 instead. And it applies to more than just 61 numbers. Of itself that is not really that irritating. The irrit...

Re: July Z* mobile specials

I know this has been answered before, but is there really no way to transfer an existing cap plan to a z plan. I have an adsl2 service, 6 mobile services and a mobile broadband service with exetel and would really like the extra data allowance that the z15 provides compared to my cap19. The call al...

Re: July Z* mobile specials

Just applied for a Z plan, and got the email saying that the SIM is in the post. The email also says this is a HSPA service and APN = "exetel1". Which I expect is misleading, as I expect APN = "internet" Please confirm which is correct, and if I am, seems like Exetel needs to update their provisioni...

Re: VoIP on Android phone

Can someone recommend a VoIP app for a Samsung Galaxy S2 (android) ? Isn't the Galaxy S2 running Gingerbread? Last I looked Gingerbread had builtin VOIP, although Samsung could have removed it. I'm running CSipSimple myself, since I can configure it to rewrite the phone numbers to cope with the ina...

Re: Off Peak Allowances

Pretty much what I expected.

I don't expect links to be fully provisioned all the time, however I don't like it when a company says there that a link is fully provisioned when it is demonstratively false.
