Re: Intermittent incoming calls: please help

I just got an email from ChamanthaW: ]Please enable port 5060 for sip signaling on your voip device. If this does not solve your issue you will have to check your voip device with device manufacturer as we were able to detect an issue on your voip device. Chamantha's comment fails to show why my cal...

Re: Intermittent incoming calls: please help

Thanks for the msg Dazzled. While I appreciate the info, I'm no closer to having my problem solved , as my only interest in a soft phone is because the Exetel support person told me I needed to do it in order to have some diagnostic info for Exetel to look at. Meanwhile I'm without a reliable home p...

Intermittent incoming calls: please help

Hello, I have been an Exetel ADSL customer for 3 years, and an Exetel VoIP customer for at least six months. The service has always worked very well, and I am happy with it. About a month ago, I switched to a Linksys SPA3102 ATA, which went without a hitch. About two weeks ago I changed my ADSL plan...

Re: Rate for excess downloads on NF/21NOTEL is wrong

You have shaping enabled on your account, giving you a 2 GB buffer should you go over yoru download allowance, and if you want to remove this (and lose it permanently), please email residentialsupport@exetel.com.au Hi James, thanks for your response, however I'm still not clear on my options. If I ...

Rate for excess downloads on NF/21NOTEL is wrong

Hello, Recently I signed up for NF/21NOTEL. The info page says that the rate for excess downloads is $0.50/Gb: https://www.exetel.com.au/members/change_service_plan.php http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_adsl2_nf.php But now on my plan info page, it says the rate is $ 6.00 /Gb. Can you explain ...

bobyo wrote:When you port does the voip phone number have 8 in front of it?

Then you would have to ring all your friends and tell them anyway,is it not?
I seem to recall that if you port your landline number, you lose your existing DID number, if you had one.

Re: how to change to naked exetel

Which telephone number are we talking about here? Is it the DID number of the existing VoIP service (I don't care about this one) or the landline number I'd like to have ported? (I care about this one a lot). I'll quote from the original Exetel forum post on this topic: http://forum.exetel.com.au/vi...

Re: how to change to naked exetel

Me too. I'd like to switch from INCPHONE Z to NF/21NOTEL. My phone number is 0398902062. Can you confirm please, that: I can port my service number from the landline to Exetel VoIP. There is zero risk of me losing the landline number (esp in the case the port is not successful). There'll be a period...

Billed for national VoIP calls

Hello, My voice service number is 0398902062 and my VoIP number is 0390053007. I have VoIP and I am on the INCPHONE Z plan. Last month (May) I made and have been charged for 38 "intercapital and regional calls". Should those 38 calls be part of the "100 free VOIP calls to national wire line numbers ...

Re: Transfer Your Current PSTN Home Number To Exetel VoIP

Do VoIP customers who port their PSTN numbers across get an entry in the White Pages? This is a very important issue that needs to be spelled out in the FAQ when written. for: at the time of the transfer, the PSTN number will most certainly be listed in the White Pages (unless of course it is a sil...

Re: Listing in the IPND for 000

Are you aware that you can use your VoIP service from another address, so the database may be quite deceptive? Indeed (and thank you), however I have no intention of using my VoIP service outside of my home. Should I ever use my VoIP service from outside my home, I'll say "no that's not my address,...

Listing in the IPND for 000

An article in The Age this morning says "As of 2007, Australian VoIP services are obliged to provide free triple-zero calls, and providers have the option of adding their customers' address details to the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND) used by the emergency services." http://www.theage.com...
