Re: Price Increase Of $5.00 per Month On All Old ADSL Plans

The old plans for their price were much better, now although there's more data, I would have preferred improvements in off-peak speeds... as they are only going to get worse through this "unlimited" plan.

Agreed, about the same rubbish speeds here: [`[*Test Results from Oz Broadband Speed Test*]`] [(---------------------------------- Test run on [*10/10/2009*] @ [*11:57 AM*])] [(Mirror: [*Exetel*] Data: [*600 KB*] Test Time: [*4.99 secs*])] [(Your line speed i...

Re: ExeSMS application for Mobiles

Hey i would personally like to thank the developer of this application, it works great. I have tested it on the Nokia e63, and it works perfectly, The only thing bad about this that i can say is that it asks for permission to use network and wlan like four times before it is happy. Also when i wante...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

The idea is good, however its consequences are quite drastic
Because it means that the torrenters using EXETEL, will download up till 2, meaning that normal usable speeds will not return until 2 pm
Which kind of sucks.
But not a bad initiative.

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

When Exetel pings you, you will at least know which box it is you have to reinstall. Does the spam get sent at any time, or only at night? I've got this feeling that it is only being sent at night, 90 % of the time the internet is blocked in the morning, as apposed to in the middle of the day. I am...

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

The reason your internet goes slow is precisely because you have at least one compromised computer which is hammering your connection. The reason that you keep getting blocked is because you haven't yet found the source of the problem. You can't keep getting the service re-enabled without getting r...

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

It's not a company, merely a home network with 5 computers on it. Which does make it a little hard to pinpoint he problem. And btw the exetel staff member who said a few seconds, is totally wrong. Most of the time the internet is working fine, but slow at nights (as it is) and then in the mornings b...

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

I am still trying to pinpoint which computer needs the reformatting after picking up little by using rootkit detections softwares, So does anyone know how long it takes for the block to be implemented? I'm asking how long it takes after a complaint for spam for the user to be blocked? (only asking t...

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

Btw. if i actually paid the $25 for a report do they give the MAC address of the machine that the spam (from the virus) is being sent from? Because if they do then i have no hesitation to just pay once and then reformat that machine, as i have around 5 machines on the network and none of them has be...

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

I've also got this feeling that outlook is doing something funny, i.e the cause of the SPAM, http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/762310-computer-sending-out-spam.html What this guy is talking about also happened to me, having recieved a delivery notification failure for an emai...

Re: Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

Despite what you have done with Norton, it is very likely you are still infected, possibly by a root kit, which can evade simple detection. You may have to completely reinstall your system or a backup from an earlier time. Do you periodically image your hard disk (eg, with Norton Ghost)? What Windo...

Been blocked for SPAM - (need help)

After being blocked the first time, i was quite worried that a virus had actually infected one of my systems, after virus scanning all computers on my network - with NORTON AV i found absolutly NOTHING. Which got me a bit annoyed. Then i thought someone was hacking my wireless and therefore changed ...
