Re: Configuration Issue With 837 Router

I don't think they are supposed to show 'no shutdown' - it shows 'shutdown' if that's been defined. The obvious missing item from your configuration is the '!' markers. Are you pasting the configuration? Here's a link to a working config file on the Exetel wiki: http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.p...

Re: Configuration Issue With 837 Router

To save settings after a reboot, the command is 'wr memory' - this writes settings to memory. Internal services? Are you after port forwarding? If so, that's done by the below: ip nat inside source static tcp 1.2.3.4 8080 interface Dialer1 8080 Hi Jason, Yes, I'm issuing a write memory and the conf...

Configuration Issue With 837 Router

Hi Guys, Having some issues with an 837, that I'd dearly love to use as once they're working, they're a touch more reliable than the alternatives. The hard part is getting them there :) Router is at Version 12.2(8r)YN, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) if relevant / required. So far, I have been able to config...

I had a call from Telstra the other day and a door knock from an Optus guy last week too. I had a Telstra business guy ring me up. He wanted to know if I wanted to switch a client to Telstra internet. After I stopped laughing at the poor guy (literally) I asked him to come up with some competitive ...

Can you please expand BRA? I know that my understanding of it, probably isn't going to match with a telco meaning of it :D

Hello, I just had a customer called that is on that exchange and if having problem there as well. May be there are still on going problems at the moment. All you can really do is log a fault with EXETEL. Thank You I rang through and logged 5 support tickets for the five ADSL connections that I know...

Re: Akamai Activation

The Akamai servers have now been installed and have been 'live' for a little over a week now. Any feedback would be appreciated. On a 512/512 internet connection, speed isn't an issue, however latency appears to have dropped. Didn't have any metrics before, but a definate "wow - that was faster" wh...

I'll just put it out there and say that there is absolutely no conceivable way that adjusting the MTU of a host would affect line sync, or a PPP session. It won't have an effect on the line sync, but it MAY have an effect on the PPP session - as in - make it workable. Dropping the MTU can have *som...

I agree in part, but the ticket continued to get closed when the had been "lengthy" posts regarding the issue - that is what get up my nose.. DICK This has been explained - people don't always go back and close the ticket when they've had the problem resolved. This is the most efficient way of Exet...

Hey everyone, Thanks for all the replies - Man you guys are paranoid :) Yes yes, he's a real friend, yes it's a legitimate list, no we're not selling viagra. Sheesh!! Thanks Corey, I was actually just after whether 200 emails would tip the scales, having never done it before I was unsure. All info ...

Uhh...I think those replies are off the topic that the original poster intended. I don't think that dannyrus was after a method to ensure he is not spamming the recipient, but a method to ensure that the emails don't get flagged by Exetel's mailing system as being spam (and consequentially blocking...

If Exetel's mail servers have a heart attack from 200 emails, I'm moving to a new ISP :)

(I seriously doubt that this would impact performance for exetel) I have been running a low volume mailing list for a while, and I haven't been pinged for it yet.)

It sets an mtu size of 1472 for protocol type 21 ppp. Set this down to 1400. Its not going to affect things *that* much, but if it does fix the problem, you can then scale it back up. Its really frustrating for a support engineer to be ignored because you know better/want to try something/heard fro...
