I see no problem in FF. If there are IE problems they aren't showing on the test machines. Please state the browser/version you're having difficulties with. The one issue that I have with it, is that the page hasn't been written to avoid the "click to activate" problem. This can be resolved by usin...

A few options I can think of: 1: Make the bulk of the forums read-only. New posters can only post to certain areas. Threads can then progress, and be migrated/archived as normal. (least overhead) 2: Add some moderators to the volunteer pool. They verify the first xx messages from new non-exetel user...

Thanks for the tip guys. I think i prefer the windows easy transfer method sounds simple. So basically if i go that way, just use a CAT5 cable, connect laptop > PC. Make sure the cable is a cross-over cable, otherwise you will require a switch/router device, to let the two computers 'talk' to each ...

Looking at the contents of the E-mail, my server has bounced the message as a non delivery report to the proposed original sender. Yes. The best thing would be to stop it doing that. Spam never has the real sender as the return address for some reason. I don't like this suggestion. If you're runnin...

The latest... OK... so some more testing and it appears that the problem is at the hardware/driver level. The network activity light is blinking like crazy as soon as Windows loads, before you log in. A quick look at 'netstat' showed no connections that would account for this. I installed a firewal...

Mandatory Filtering is just another coughed up bit of mucous that makes the uninformed public appear like the government is doing something to fix a problem that doesn't exist. There is a problem, however this is the wrong way of tackling it. For the oblig. comparison - its like using a shotgun to ...

currently I am on Telestra Yeah that doesn't really help. If you want to be told if your exchange is ADSL2 enabled, you really have to tell us what your exchange is. There are just a couple of exchanges, and we don't know what yours is. If you're not able to tell us, then visit http://www.adsl2exch...

Oh and by the way, Unless a user on a Windows Vista/XP/2k machine has Administrator rights they cannot bypass proxy settings within Firefox/IE/Opera, which every child should be running as a general user account anyway I haven't gone looking, am going on heresay, but 83,000+ hits on "firefox unpatc...

Limiting my teenage sons access to Internet: Caution extreme geek content follows, you have been warned!!!!: I removed the ADSL router from the LAN with one yank! Re: automatic email notification

can we have some automatic email notification when the limit has been reached? I think that's a good idea but it is not currently planned. I'll get it added to the development list. Peraps we should also block the access, as we do for non-payment, and ensure that the user has to acknowledge they wi...

The subnet on the "BAD" config is wrong. This could be the issue. Anthony, can you advise why using 255.255.255.0 as a subnet mask is wrong? I've used it on all the systems on my home network, including the web and email server, and have never had any issues. Further to this - the subnet itself isn...
