Re: Free/discounted Exetel Voip - Exetel Voip.

I agree. The Naked ADSL2 plans already have "100 local or STD calls at no charge" included. Maybe the same offer for on other plan's would prove attractive also - particularly in helping to persuade customers to take that first step towards VOIP without the commitment of a Naked ADSL plan with no ba...

The defaults for my DG834G were:
Username: admin
password: password

I seem to remember it being quite easy to forget to press the "Apply" button after changing settings also.

Re: Relocating ADSL2 and retaining current number

... lack-of progress report... Thought I'd let you know what's happened... I immediately called Telstra - over 2 weeks ago now - and asked them to port the line. This involved me giving them the relevant details, me confirming the details then the account holder confirming the same details also as p...

Hi Shady, The graph is too big in Firefox on both WindowsXP and Linux for me. It is initially displayed scaled down to fit the width (distorting the text) then when clicked upon it expands to it's proper size, but is a little too large for it's container and a horizontal scroll bar appears. IE7 also...

Great idea. I'm sure there have been potential customers who decided against Exetel for fear of being charged for exceeding their download limits despite the charges being relatively small. (I have to admit, I haven't read all of this thread, so this may have been suggested...) Maybe the options (sh...

I believe that the account number you are after is the one which appears on this page in your friend's User Facilities (it will also be in yours if you have an ADSL2 service) https://www.exetel.com.au/members/service_cancel.php?link=link04 Ah yep... Thanks Gidget. That looks like the one. By the wa...

Is there an alternative way that I can get the account number for my telephone service from Exetel - I haven't been able to find it in the User Facilities, and on Thursday night I emailed Exetel at the above email address requesting the account number... Nothing heard as yet. I understand that Telst...

Relocating ADSL2 and retaining current number

I friend of mine is currently using Exetel's ADSL2 with phone (Optus). She is moving to a new house early next month and would like to retain the current phone number. Having searched and read several threads here on the subject, it looks as though we should proceed as follows: * Acquire the Exetel ...

Glad its fixed but seems very strange that it only stopped working today - along with others apparently - exetel must have changed something..... cheers. :?: .... or maybe Optus? Does seem strange though. I'm at a different location/connection now, but same exchange, same modem/router type, same Ex...

... through a Netcomm NB5Plus4W modem router. My SMTP setting is smtp.nsw.exemail.com.au I noticed that some replies are saying that MTU is incorrect. I have looked in my router settings and can't find anything like that. Have a look in the handbook, downloadable here . The information is there (pa...

Have a look at Exetel's modem setup guide here.
Though it doesn't mention changing the MTU specifically, look at the screen-shot at step 13.

Again looks like MTU. You're trying to send more then around 1500 bytes of data in the one hit down a pipe that'll accept approx 1500 bytes at a time. Andrew Cheers Andrew, and James, It Worked :D Can now access all webmail clients properly and send html email from T'bird. Was set to 1492, now chan...

Using the webmail interface, I find that it times out when trying to send any mail.

May not be connected, but I also now find that I'm having trouble with other webmail: specifically gmail and hotmail.
