Reading through this thread, there have been a number of good suggestions. It would take no more than 30 mins of someones time to fix up this VERY annoying 'bug' of having to log in twice.
Please !!

Optus tower locations ?
Does anyone know where I can obtain the locations of the Optus towers please. I have read in a number of threads that line of sight is needed for good reception. But how can one get line of sight, if one does not know where the towers are ? Also, one needs to know which towers are working, pointing ...

Re: Back to dialup speed again (well, almost)
This is happening again. At first I thought it was the new router, see viewtopic.php?f=54&t=38224

Re: A tip for Regular Forum Viewers :) (Auto login)
I see this still hasn't been fixed. Any ideas of when Exetel intend to fix this logging in twice scenario ? Support should be easy to get, not hard to get.

Re: E169 - New router - Billion 7404VGPX (speed issues)
I have been doing many router restarts, which would no doubt equate to a hard reset.
This problem now appears to be more reception related, and possibly it is pure coincidence that the speed dropped when the new router was added.

Re: E169 - New router - Billion 7404VGPX (speed issues)
Thanks Dazzled. I had it at 1500, but speed still an issue. :( I see one Billion whiz on Whirlpool suggests this to 'debug' .. Login via consol, run the following commands & email logs, ensuring that issue is captured. - system trace enable usb_host debug - console enable - ppp event 4 - event show ...

Re: E169 - New router - Billion 7404VGPX (speed issues)
Seems MTU of 1492 is the value shown from this Whirlpool search
I tried that, saved config, rebooted, but no difference, still dialup speed.

I don't know what the MTU should be for 3G. Can't find any docs on the settings.

Re: E169 - New router - Billion 7404VGPX (speed issues)
Dazzled, the modem was always connected to an outside antenna, and so that factor hasn't changed. In the config for the WAN connection, the settings are: Mode: UMTS first Tel No: *99***1# APN: exetel1 Auth. Protocol: Chap (auto) LCP Echo Period: every 10 seconds MTU: 1500 Connection: Always On Keep ...

E169 - New router - Billion 7404VGPX (speed issues)
Have been using the E169 on both Ubuntu and XP okay now for a year or two. Have had the occasional speed drop, but overall , it hasn't been too bad. It was used as a dongle, directly attached to the computer. Now I have a new router, a Billion 7404VGPX and the speed is basically back to dialup. :( H...

Back to dialup speed again (well, almost)
Noticed the last few days, the speed with the HSPA has been terribly slow. Exetel speed test shows .. Your current bandwidth reading is: 107.10kbps which means you can download at 13.39 KB/sec. from our servers. and the results from speedtest.net as follows: Date IP Address Download Upload Latency S...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers
The email I got did not mention HSPA, only ADSL. Do I get a price increase, or am I forced to change plans also ? The MoIP option is good, but a bit of a joke when a speed test reveals up and download speeds of around 0.25 Mb/s . Apparently at least 1.5 download is needed for VoIP or MoIP, so it's n...
