Corey, we are now several months down the track. Does it look like Exetel will ever fix this ?

Re: How to report spam?

I got spam this morning, to my exetel email address. Now, I'm curious how they got my email address, it was some 'invite' from 'GreenOliveTree' at facebook. 1. My exetel email address is ONLY used for email between myself and Exetel (I use another domain for all other emails). 2. We do have a facebo...

Re: Have emailed billing twice with no response

I was in an exactly similar situation. Finally got my refund today. >1 month turn around on refund since date of pointing out billing error to them. I was advised on the 15th Oct that the billing department have been advised to give me a refund (ADSL application rejected, line not suitable), and it...

Do Exetel have their own DSLAM's ?

After reading Distance From the Exchange and Naked DSL Speed , and in particular .. Between 4km and 5km have traditionally been distances at which broadband is sometimes difficult to get. If the cable quality is of poor standard and the line attenuation too high, then an ADSL order is rejected. But ...

Looks like an additional line solved the problem for some people.

Re: Applying for ADSL1 when already use HSPA ?

G'day Dazzled, It's my understanding that Telstra isn't confined to using 13.8 dB/km lines in rural areas, and so may be able to extend the range. Would be great to know how to get Telstra to extend the range. Doing a 'whereis.com' , the distance is 20.6 km by road, to the exchange, but only approx....

Re: Forum re-validation after post submission

Yes, it certainly is a bug, and like most bugs of the insect world, an annoyance.

The Auto login is an annoyance also, and needs some better solution than at present. I guess it is one method to keep posts down. :)

Re: Applying for ADSL1 when already use HSPA ?

...every 8 km you mean. No, I mean 4 km, based on ... For ADSL1, anything past 4km and the risk of degraded service is very high, so carriers often choose not to provide it. 8Mbps ADSL goes out a little further, but over 4km and you are looking at a premium 8Mbps price, for a flakey 1.5Mbps-like se...

Re: Applying for ADSL1 when already use HSPA ?

perhaps give Telstra a ring and ask. Especially if you are willing to pay for a technician and/or continue to use a Telstra service for your phone I'm sure they will be relatively helpful I have given thought to stay with Exetel HSPA, and apply for BigPong ADSL, as I have heard some stories where T...

Re: Applying for ADSL1 when already use HSPA ?

What can prompt getting off a PGS ? Someone told me that you have to be within 3 to 4 kms of an exchange, to get ADSL, 'even if' the PGS is fixed.

Re: Applying for ADSL1 when already use HSPA ?

Would it help if we applied for a new telephone number, one that goes through another exchange ?
