Re: A Watershed Change In Australian Communications?

So, I would be interested in your point of view regarding the short term and long term consequences of this. I myself just want NBN inc to piss off and leave my ADSL2+ alone :D

Re: Recent Optus network degradation?

I commute from Wollongong to Sydney daily (train) and use Exetel HSPA via a Nexus One. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed similar behaviour? I feel for you having to do that run every day :( A while back when I was doing the run occasionally to Nth Sydney, the only black spot I suffered (was...

Re: VoIP Server down

Now I know why I kept my MNF voIP as a backup :) But shouldn't have to. Just another interesting point, I have my Exe service go to voice mail after 20 seconds or something like that. After the Exe phone stopped ringing i expected I could leave a message as it should have went to voice mail and emai...

Re: VoIP Server down

Hi matt_etheridge, We are currently experiencing a VOIP issue. Refer Forum link http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=230&t=36265&start=15 Maybe update http://www.exetel.com.au/a_network.php so that people know there is an issue then, as suggested yesterday? I just tested mine and when calling...

I just can't handle using a headset for phone calls, I will just use the MNF service till I can get another ATA as i want to get my MNF credit down to nothing anyway :)

Re: Problem with my voIP line on naked

OK I got it going (I had set the port settings for port 2 but failed to set the settings for port 2 in the general voIP Tab) But still the same (except it's worse today than it was (for both ports) It's now a high pitched squelch noise) rather than just hiss Looks like I an going to have to get an u...

Re: Problem with my voIP line on naked

Exetel VoIP password is here https://www.exetel.com.au/members_old/voip_modify_service.php (thank heaven for the old version of the facility). Thanks for that! Exetel had already sent it to me via email from a ticket (took like 5 mins flat)! It's one of the passwords I already tried. I will keep pl...

Re: Problem with my voIP line on naked

I tried changing from Port 1 to port 2 copying all details over and saving config and restarting the router. It comes up as failed in the voIP settings for the port. Only thing I can think of is the password is incorrect and I have no idea what it was set to now

Re: Problem with my voIP line on naked

You could configure Mynetfone on the Open/Billion and disconnect the Mynetfone box so it can't register. If it's still crook, you have the culprit. I can just disconnect it as it's only for outgoing calls (till credit is used up) but it's not connected via a voIP port it's just a device hanging off...

Re: Problem with my voIP line on naked

Since VoIP data is digital, it is the ATA that makes the analogue sounds you hear in a phone. If the successful Mynetfone went through a different ATA, I would be suspicious of the Open unit. You seem to have eliminated the handset. Yes the only thing left is the voIP Port. I have 1 free port in th...

Re: Problem with my voIP line on naked

Has anyone at Exetel got any comments on this one? Or should I raise a support ticket? I have also changed the RJ11 cable with another still same result.
