Re: VoIP Server down

Hi Martin, My VOIP has a loud buzzing noise in the handset that is not usually there. I can hear the dial tone over the top of the buzz, but just wondering what it could be? Normal PSTN phone is OK. ADSL is OK. Cheers, Ian I am getting the same, and started a thread about it. It doesn't seem down t...

Problem with my voIP line on naked

Hi, I am having an issue where I am getting that much line noise on my voIP service that I can't dial a number at all as it still stays at the dial tone afterward. This has been going on for approx 2 weeks now consistently. I had an incoming call earlier to my DID and I could hardly make out what th...

Re: New Superfast National Broadband Network

great for downloading entertainment & better access to education and whilst it is suppose to be free initially the main questions will be how much will it cost. Lucky you! Maybe check here http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-fibre-pricing.php Dunno if it is valid in your area or not. Maybe someone...

Re: Optus live streaming World Cup. Do-able on Exetel?

Wouldn't the answer be no and it will cost 1.5c per MB if on that rate plan seeing that this is not Optus and it is Exetel using an Exetel connection?

Re: Which ADSL2 plan ?

Myself if I were you I would go the A and pay for excess, but either way it seems good value. (even if you don't opt for the excess charge after you do 5GB @ 512 you should automatically get swithced to 50c per GB thereafter i believe).

Re: permanent p2p throttling

Seems to me the OP wants an easy solution. I don't think the 2 people that would subscribe to the no P2P Exetel plan out of 100,000 would justify it's existence though.

Re: Reduction of Off Peak Period?

Comes back to issues of advertising "unlimited" though. I was thinking more or a theoretic cut off limit of 100GB say or whatever (even if it's not enforced) to show up front, that it can be achieved and they see they can get 130GB or whatever up front without having to work it out and without the ...

Re: Reduction of Off Peak Period?

But, as with all consumer products, it is up to the end user to research thoroughly and these forums and word of mouth (which is the majority source of new users I think) are always there to provide enlightenment Maybe it just needs some polishing in the marketing of it. IE: 30GB with up to 100GB s...

Re: Reduction of Off Peak Period?

The 100-120GB is a good, feasible, and reasonable limit. Previously people were complaining that they found it difficult to reconcile the "unlimited" plans to the "acceptable usage policy". Now, with 512kbps shaping, you don't have to. People don't look at it that way though (I don't think). They l...

Re: Reduction of Off Peak Period?

From 60Gb to zero, good work guys. I'm guessing this is temporary for new users only, to help reduce the load till they get sorted and come to a better arrangement. It may also have something to do with the backlash from Exetel customers at the change of 12 hours free offpeak to 6 hours but that is...

Re: Naked ADSL2 Rejected

The weird thing is that I did exactly that before I applied online, oh and exetel people checked also. Anyway, I wondering what to do. Chris That was probably a case of bad luck. Keep trying the same way. When ports are allocated they say here's 25 ports and they are available to all wholesale comp...

Re: Why is my Naked ADSL2+ like dial-up?

This is a common argument advanced by forum representatives and friends here. That's crap. Re read my post it's from the experience I had with slowness, I am not making it up. Some things are beyond their control I am sure. Same as When Coles have problems with their suppliers, and can't supply app...

Re: Why is my Naked ADSL2+ like dial-up?

Only thing different is my ISP (on an Optus dslam). Maybe search for "Optus" users "ADSL2" "Your exchange" it may have nothing to do with Exetel. I know in my case it had nothing to do with Exetel and all to do with Optus' backhaul problems till it was corrected by Optus, after they were dragged sc...

Re: iphone data usage

On the iPhone you should have an option, so I'm told where you can just download the headers of the email. Like the Nokia's do. Whether or not this allows you to see if there are any attachments I don't know.
