Re: Proposed plan changes - contract period

And it is still not the point. I think it's just wrong to compel customers, long standing customers, to sign up for a long term contract - yes, I think that a year is a very long time - when they've already proved their loyalty. It's wrong from a moral perspective, and ultimately, it's wrong from a...

Re: Proposed plan changes - contract period

I was like you a bit but I would not be worried about signing a new contract. Why? 1. The new plans are (often) much cheaper with much more quota. 2. The "penalty" for breaking the contract is only $100. You may save that in 5 months. 3 You have locked in the low price for 12 months so it can't go u...

My Optus wireline number is not listed

Hello I just checked the phone book and on-line in the white pages on a whim and found out my wireline phone number is no longer listed. I have been on a bundled Optus plan with Exetel for years and I have always been listed. I just checked the user facilities and "Unlisted number" is NOT selected. ...

Re: Three Months Free ADSL

I think offering free months or a discount for a year etc is the way to handle the "subsidies" from your suppliers. This is an accepted way to give new customers a better deal than current customers. Everyone does it. Everyone knows what they are getting. The old way of giving new customers access t...

Re: Included Offpeak Downloads

I on the other hand prefer the 1am to 9am as I am a nightowl and can take advantage of it easily without leaving the PC running.

BUT the allowance on the OT-100 is such that it does not matter as I will not reach it anyway.

Re: Included Offpeak Downloads

I know it is uncool to respond to yourself on the internet :) but I just checked the User facilities and the peak time is now

9:00 am to 1:00 am.

So that answered my question, it just took a while.

Included Offpeak Downloads

Hi

I just changed to OT-100 and in the members area under "Change Plan" it lists the

"Included Offpeak Downloads 1am-9am**

My Offpeak time is still 4:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Is it supposed to change or not?

Thanks

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

By offering them to you with a $40.00 activation fee (compared to a $60.00 activation fee for new users) we are subsidizing your plan using part of the bonuses provided by the carriers when we sign up new users. I just changed over my Mother from ADSL1 to ADSL2 and paid a $40 fee and elected to NOT...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

I have to say I am disappointed too.

There should be at least SOME plans you can change to without a new contract and phone transfer ..... surely!

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

just check and see what she actually gets as a discount as a proportion of her bill. I have in the past and her usage pattern of many long distance calls of maybe 30-60 minutes each make the Exetel offering unviable as the call costs are not capped. plus as I said the pensioner discounts on her cur...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

The conditions applying to these new plans are a new 12 month contract and the requirement to transfer your telephone line to Telstra with billing by Exetel. It is unfortunate that you have to transfer the phone line to Exetel to get these new plans. New customers do not have this condition. I set ...

My current plan is $5 cheaper but is a little tight in quota for me at 30GB. 150GB would mean I could be less discerning in my downloads.

Re: Off Peak Allowances

We have put three replacement Optus based plans on the web site that are 'couched' in the words/methods used by other ISP providers. Any comments would be welcomed. Fantastic plans, I will switch to OT-500 if made available to current customers even though I do not need anywhere near even the peak ...
