Re: Using VPN with abcxyz@exemail.com.au emails

It's not about sending emails. It's about your VPN. Thunderbird connects directly to either the POP server for receipt or to the SMTP server for sending. With no VPN that's ok, because the SMTP server sees your Exetel IP address (not email address) and connects in plain text. The whole point of the ...

Re: Using VPN with abcxyz@exemail.com.au emails

Exetel's outgoing SMTP server needs no authentication, but it enforces an Exetel-only IP address for the sender. Your VPN is coming to the server from an outside address.

You can receive because the connection to the POP server is authenticated by password.

Webmail has a log in function.

Re: Cannot Connect To POP3 Server

There is a simple test to check if you have a problem with the server, or whether the problem is with your mail client. Open a terminal/DOS prompt. Some Windows users may have to enable telnet. You'll know by the reply to telnet. Type: telnet pop3.nsw.exemail.com.au 110 The reply you should receive ...

Re: moto g dual sim mobile

Perhaps it's this - after putting in the second SIM, drag down the status bar at the top of the home screen and select "Welcome to your dual SIM".

Presumably it's about pfSense and not wrestling. The forum exists for posting how-tos. In earlier times this sort of thing was the main activity.

Yes. It's a POP3 service. Use the Advanced Setup described at https://support.office.com/en-us/articl ... 9a33166c60 for internet email.

Re: Altering VOIP settings in User Area

We use the Linphone softphone on both Android and Linux systems very successfully, on whatever network we find when travelling. There is a version for Apple as well.

Re: Incoming VOIP service not working

We might have a confusion in the router. There is a table in the config for two phone outlets, 1 and 2. (There is a similar table for SIP advanced). These are intended for two separate VoIP accounts, each with its own phone number, I am going to guess that the incoming INVITE signal to start a call ...

Re: Incoming VOIP service not working

My first reply had an "if", for separate router and ATA, which it turns out did not apply to your case. My second post clarified that. It is a common problem for householders. If you have a handset fault, it is easily tested by plugging the phone directly into a wall socket and using it on the stand...

Re: Incoming VOIP service not working

The NF10WV has the VoIP digital to analogue stuff built in, so port 5060 is forwarded by default. Your problem is very common with separate equipment, and I posted the usual fix in that case.

Re: Incoming VOIP service not working

Support can check the server for you, but no incoming calls can be caused by the router rejecting an uninvited signal, which they do by default. If you use a separate router and ATA device or ATA-containing handset, check that port 5060 UDP is forwarded to the device.

Re: eXeSMS Installation --> System Error

Way back when the SMS service began several users published scripts and code for Exetel SMS. I don't recall anyone but Exetel using Java. I found a bash script still online at http://www.arinola.net/misc/sms_send, which might give some ideas. It uses curl and a config file. You could put a simple GU...

Re: most basic nbn vdsl modem to use bridged to dd-wrt route

You might find some ideas via http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/fttn_registered_modem_router A not very useful request for the ZTE was here at https://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=252&t=43512&p=321204&hilit=vte+bridge&sid=c20be41fd5739a263737fdadf2043428#p321204 ZTE manuals are very brief, but the...

Re: Can't send emails

That wasn't a bad effort. Before graphic desktops we did it that way. It still serves on some devices or to get the error message at the point of error. The server has declared a 550 problem with the recipient's email address. It usually means the address is non-existent or otherwise unlocatable, bu...

Re: Can't send emails

The pop up looks like error 550 was received from the server. I just sent an email typing in the terminal rather than a mail client so I could see all messages coming from the server. That is - telnet smtp.nsw.exemail.com.au 25 Using commands HELO, MAIL FROM:, RCPT TO:, DATA, and QUIT. All returns (...
