$20 to change plan when no longer under contract?

Hello, I'm currently on an old ADSL1 plan (T1.5-30), my contract for this plan finished yesterday. I was looking at the new plans and liked the look of the T1.5-100 plan. Thing is, why am I being slugged $20 to change plan when I'm no longer under contract? I'm happy to begin a new contract under th...

Re: New Telephone Line Provisioning - Optus Service

I hope this is the right spot for this, so apologies if it's not. Is there a way I can find out if I can get an Optus based Exetel service? For example the OT-100 plan shows up in my user facilities (to swap to), but I don't believe I can actually do it. I believe I'm limited to one of the (over pri...

Strange that the Mornington Peninsular should be regarded as Zone 2.
You're telling me! Apparently Somerville (3912) is country :(

Re: Why a different price for Zone 2?

Hello, My exchange is a "Zone 2" exchange. That means that rather than having access to the TCV20-200 plan, I only have access to the TCV20- REGION -200 plan. This plan is dearer of course. My question is, why is zone 2 dearer? Does it actually cost Exetel more to connect a customer in zone 2? Beca...

Re: ADSL2 bundle with Telstra

The only one that shows up in my user facilities is the crappy TCV20-REGION-PAYU plan that slugs you a $1 per GB.

The impression given was that Exetel were working on other/more plans. That plan was already up when they said this.

Re: ADSL2 bundle with Telstra

I thought that too initially, but when I tried to swap to one of the Optus plans, it said my line speed would be 18000, that's ADSL2, not ADSL2+ which is 24000. I think ADSL2 goes to 12Mbps and ADSL2+ to 24Mbps. But the distinction is irrelevant. In practical terms there is no such thing as "ADSL2"...

I guess we're just lazy fingers when we type ADSL2 and others as ADSL2+

Re: ADSL2 bundle with Telstra

Thanks Larry.

Another question: Why ADSL2 and not ADSL2+?

Could you please post here when everything is ready to go (ie: the option is in the user facilities).

Cheers,
Brad

Re: ADSL2 bundle with Telstra

We're working on some things still. No ETA but hopefully it won't be too long away. Ok. Good to know it's not just me being dumb. Questions: If I bundle my services, do I get a bill from Exetel or Telstra (my land line is currently with telstra)? Will there be any "down" time, where I won't have ac...

From the Exetel Newsletter: New Ability To ‘Bundle’ PSTN Services On Telstra Plans Exetel has re-signed its supply agreement with Telstra Wholesale. One of the new provisions is to allow Exetel to provide a Telstra PSTN line with any Telstra Infrastructure ADSL 1 or ADSL2 service. This option is ava...
